This site is a free entry park that offers a majestic waterfall. It is quite small in terms of water flow, but it provides a beautiful approach to nature, especially for the loud sound it shares with its visitors.

Hola a todos mis amigos de Hive! Espero que estén pasando un día hermoso! En esta oportunidad los llevaré a pasear por la hermosa Cascada de Nyon, un lugar bellísimo que queda a 30 minutos caminando del pueblo de Morzine.

¿Quién diría que un lugar así está tan cerca de una red de pequeños núcleos urbanos en poblados absolutamente rurales, a la espera de los amantes de la naturaleza?

Este sitio es un parque de entrada gratuita que ofrece una majestuosa cascada. La misma es bastante pequeña en cuanto a caudal de agua, pero brinda un bello acercamiento a la naturaleza, en especial por el fuerte sonido que comparte con sus visitantes.

How did I get here?

I walked from the town of Morzine to the valley where the park is located. 30 minutes on a little-traveled road with a dreamlike landscape.

While I was walking I discovered that there were buses going near the waterfall, but the truth is that I would not have changed my beautiful walk for a bus.

As you go along, you can see how the mountain wraps around you and how it fills you with a kind of shelter of pine trees, rocks and moss.

Fui desde la ciudad de Morzine caminando hasta el valle donde se encuentra el parque. 30 minutos por una ruta poco transitada y con un paisaje de ensueño.

Mientras caminaba descubrí que habían buses que se dirigían hacia cerca de la cascada, pero la verdad es que no hubiese cambiado mi hermosa caminata por un bus.

A medida que vas avanzando, puedes ver cómo la montaña te va envolviendo y cómo te va llenando de una especie de abrigo de pinos, rocas y musgo.

The snow was almost completely gone by the time I made this hike, especially since I was not at a very high altitude. This was a marvel, as the vivid green of the moss was visible on the surface of the roots and trunks of the trees.

This humid landscape is very new to me, since I come from a rather dry area.

La nieve estaba casi por completo retirada cuando hice esta caminata, sobre todo porque no me encontraba a una altura muy pronunciada. Esto, fue una maravilla, pues el verde vivo del musgo se dejaba apreciar en la superficie de las raíces y troncos de los árboles.

Este paisaje húmedo es muy nuevo para mi, ya que vengo de una zona bastante seca.

How did I get to the waterfall?

Well, besides the route, once you get to the park where the waterfall is located, the real adventure begins, as the trail becomes dirt and leads you straight to the water. In addition, you start to see the river flowing by your side.

This section has a duration of 5 minutes walking. You can imagine that I didn't like that, so I dared to have a little adventure following a staircase that was on the side.

The stairs were very wet and I knew I could slip, so I climbed with extreme care. I want you to know that it was a success, and that, it allowed me to see this waterfall from another perspective and in fact I was able to reach a bridge that connected to another trail in the park.

Cómo llegué a la cascada?

Bueno, además de la ruta, una vez que uno llega al parque donde se encuentra la cascada, empieza la real aventura, pues el sendero pasa a ser de tierra y te guía directo hacia el agua. Además, empiezas a ver el río deslizarse a tu lado.

Este tramo tiene una duración de 5 minutos caminando. Se imaginarán que a mi eso me dejó gusto a poco, así que me atreví a tener una pequeña aventura siguiendo una escalera que estaba a un costado.

La escalera estaba muy húmeda y sabía que podía resbalarme, así que subí con extremo cuidado. Quiero que sepan que fue todo un éxito, y eso, me permitió ver esta cascada desde otra perspectiva y de hecho pude llegar a un puente que conectaba a otro sendero del parque.

I only crossed the bridge, as everything was very muddy and I couldn't step on it firmly, but I captured some delicious photos from there.

On the way, I saw some people taking a bath in the river, which made me cold, hehe. But I think that in summer this must be a wonderful option, especially because right in that area there was a kind of natural pool.

Sólo crucé el puente, pues todo estaba muy embarrado y no podía pisar firmemente, pero capturñe unas fotos deliciosas desde allí.

En el camino, vi a algunas personas tomando un baño en el río, lo cual me hizo dar frío, jeje. Pero creo que en verano esta debe ser una opción maravillosa, en especial porque justo en esa zona se formaba una especie de piscina natural.

The landscape

As you can see in the photos, the whole image has a yellowish tone, as if it were a color sepia.

The landscape was like that, the photos really convey the tonality of that environment, and I think it was this same tone that highlighted the green of the vegetation.

It was very contradictory and appealing, as we are in winter and some higher areas are still snowed in. But to see this life living in other trees with so much vigos and color, surprised me, as it is vegetation absolutely adapted to extreme low temperatures, and in fact they survive under the snow. A marvel.

El paisaje

Como pueden ver en las fotos, toda la imagen tiene un tono amarillento, como si fuese un sepia a color.

El paisaje era así, las fotos realmente transmiten la tonalidad de ese entorno, y creo que era este mismo tono el que resaltaba el verde de la vegetación.

Era muy contradictorio y atractivo, pues estamos en invierno y algunas zonas más altas siguen nevadas. Pero ver esta vida viviendo en otros árboles con tanto vigos y color, me sorprendió, pues es vegetación absolutamente adaptada a temperaturas bajas extremas, y de hecho sobreviven bajo la nieve. Una maravilla.
