Come visit with me a corner of Mendoza (Argentina) and fall in love with it

Hello my dear friends from Pinmapple and Hive! Today I will take you for a walk to the municipal camping of Tupungato also located in Valle de Uco as some other posts I have shared with you.

It turns out that this beautiful region of the province of Mendoza, keeps inside wonderful places and exquisite landscapes, which never cease to amaze me and make me fall in love with my province.

Although I am currently still here, without leaving yet to European land, I am trying to enjoy and make the most of the landscapes that my Argentina has to offer, which are beautiful, and in this case, I must say that it left me speechless.

This time I visited a place I had never been to before, and that is the state camping site of Tupungato. I thought it was a rather neglected place, because I have previously been to other municipal campgrounds in the province and they are not very green or well maintained, but this time, Tupungato offered a marvel of a place.

The outing was for the whole day and I took the opportunity to tour the campsite and take several pictures to share with you.

It turns out that this place has in its interior a small Greek theater, a waterfall, and numerous sectors named with different species of trees such as "Los Tomillos", "Los Retamos", as you can see in the pictures.

It has an enormous variety of trees among which poplars and pines stand out, together with other species of yesteryear, and it also has a stream inside, which flows with a lot of water and which goes along one of the sides of the campsite next to some churrasqueras (that is how we call it in Mendoza, the place where we barbecue).

Hola mis amigos queridos de Pinmapple y de Hive! Hoy los llevaré a pasear al camping municipal de Tupungato también ubicado en Valle de Uco como algunos otros posts que les he compartido.

Resulta que esta hermosa región de la provincia de Mendoza, guarda dentro lugares maravillosos y paisajes exquisitos, que no dejan de sorprenderme y enamorarme de mi provincia.

Aunque actualmente sigo aquí, sin irme aún hacia tierra europea, estoy intentando disfrutar y aprovechar al máximo de los paisajes que mi Argentina tiene para ofrecer, que son preciosos, y en este caso, debo decir que me dejó boquiabierta.

Esta vez visité un lugar en el que nunca había estado, y se trata del camping estatal de Tupungato. Pensé que era un lugar con bastante descuido, porque anteriormente he ido a otros campings municipales de la provincia y no tienen demasiado verde ni mucho mantenimiento, pero esta vez, Tupungato ofreció una maravilla de lugar.

La salida fue por el día entero y yo aproveché para recorrer el camping y tomar varias fotos para compartir con ustedes.

Resulta que este lugar tiene en su interior un pequeño teatro griego, una cascada, y numerosos sectores nombrados con diferentes especies de árboles como “Los Tomillos”, “Los Retamos”, tal como pueden ver en las imágenes.

Cuenta con una enorme variedad de árboles entre los que destacan álamos y pinos, junto con otras especies de antaño, y también tiene en un interior un arroyo, que va con bastante agua y que se desplaza por uno de los costados del camping al lado de algunas churrasqueras (así le llamamos en Mendoza, al lugar en donde hacemos la barbacoa).

The road

You can see in the pictures photos of the road to the campsite. One section coincides with another recent trip I made, so I didn't take pictures because you already know them, but as soon as we turned into one of the small streets to reach our destination, I couldn't help but grab the phone to freeze the landscape: it's grape harvest time, when the grapes are harvested, and the vineyards bathe the sides of the roads and streets of Valle de Uco.

There are some smaller plantations that blend in with the rest of the landscape, creating a worthy Mendocino autumn picture. They say there is nothing like autumn in Mendoza, and I can't deny it. Whoever wants to visit this city, cannot miss the autumn season. It enchants, enchants and steals thousands of smiles.

El camino

Podrán ver en las imágenes fotos de la ruta hacia el camping. Un tramo coincide con otro viaje reciente que hice, por lo que no tomé fotos debido a que ya las conocen, pero en cuanto doblamos por una de las callecitas pequeñas para llegar a nuestro destino, no pude evitar agarrar el teléfono para congelar el paisaje: es época de vendimia, cuando se cosecha la uva, y los viñedos bañan los costados de las rutas y calles de Valle de Uco.

Hay algunas plantaciones más pequeñas que alcanzan a mezclarse con el resto del paisaje, creando un digno cuadro otoñal Mendocino. Dicen que no hay como el otoño en Mendoza, y no puedo negarlo. Quien quiera visitar esta ciudad, no puede perderse la estación de otoño. Enamora, encanta y roba miles de sonrisas.

The stream and the waterfall

Walking through the beautiful campsite, I found several "descents" to the stream, which although it extended next to one and as I said, next to the barns, it was quite a bit lower, in another small valley.

You could see that it had been there for years and years, because as you went down, the vegetation increased in volume and you could see plants more adapted to the water, as well as the roots of the trees spread out between the earth and the water, looking for some support.

Time also seems to have had its way with the vegetation, since next to the stream there are huge trees that have fallen, probably due to age but also because of the constant humidity.

Walking a little "up", as the terrain began to gently increase its height, we arrived at "The waterfall", a tender space with a kind of lagoon that exposes a small artificial waterfall at the end.

Although it is not natural, it is indisputable that the sound of water is therapeutic and soothing, so if you closed your eyes, you could enjoy a 100% natural waterfall in your imagination.

Apparently they have raised this space with concrete and have sought to give a very particular touch to the campsite (a very good idea).

El arroyo y la cascada

Caminando por el precioso camping, encontré varias “bajadas” hacia el arroyo, que si bien se extendía al lado de uno y como les decía, al lado de las churrasqueras, estaba bastante más abajo, en otro pequeño valle.

Se nota que aquello lleva años y años, pues al bajar, la vegetación incrementaba su volumen y se podían ver plantas más adaptadas al agua, como también las raíces de los árboles se extendían entre tierra y agua, buscando algún soporte.

El tiempo parece haber hecho las suyas además, con la vegetación, ya que junto al arroyo hay árboles enormes que han caído, seguramente por la edad pero también por la constante humedad.

Caminando un poco hacia “arriba”, ya que el terreno empezaba a aumentar suavemente su altura, se llegaba a “La cascada”, un tierno espacio con una especie de laguna que expone a una pequeña cascada artificial al final.

Aunque no es natural, es indiscutible que el sonido del agua resulta terapéutico y calmante, por lo que si uno cerraba los ojos, podía disfrutar de una cascada 100% natural en su imaginación.

Aparentemente han levantado ese espacio con hormigón y han buscado darle un toque muy particular al camping (una idea muy acertada).

Greek theater

Almost in front of the waterfall is a small Greek theater, or rather amphitheater, one of those that have the stage at ground level and the stalls extend to the heights, as if it were a soccer field.

With the seats, seeking to reach the sky, a semicircle is formed, pointing towards the stage.

Although it is easy to walk around it, it is quite original that within a municipal camping site there is an infrastructure like this one. In it, they hold celebrations such as the election of the departmental grape harvest queen or other regional events.

El teatro griego

Casi frente a la cascada se encuentra un pequeño teatro griego, o mejor dicho anfiteatro, de esos que presentan el escenario al nivel del suelo y la platea se extiende hacia las alturas, como si se tratara de una cancha de fútbol.

Con los asientos, buscando llegar al cielo, se forma un semicírculo que apunta hacia el escenario.

Aunque se puede recorrer fácilmente caminando, es bastante original que dentro de un camping municipal se encuentre una infraestructura como esta. En ella, realizan festejos como la elección de la reina de la vendimia departamental u otros eventos regionales.

Camping in general

As I said, the place is beautiful and very unique. All the elements that compose it make it attractive for both locals and tourists and the good thing is that the entrance fee is not too expensive. For two people it cost 400 Argentine pesos, which is about USD 1,20. This is to spend the day, but it is really worth paying it because it also has toilets in very good condition, which is not found when you go to natural mountain areas (logically, hehe).

Besides the care it had together with the design, provide a very conducive space to relax and enjoy nature.

The beginning of autumn is already leaving the typical golden carpet of leaves everywhere, and that gave it a special touch, as this generates a colorful and somewhat festive landscape.

On the other hand, the trees of yesteryear generated incredible images if you looked up, especially next to the stream. For a moment I felt immersed in a forest, in an attempt to capture those magical canopies that sought to caress each other.

El camping en general

Como les comento, el lugar es precioso y es sumamente único. Todos los elementos que lo componen lo hacen atractivo tanto para locales como para turistas y lo bueno es que la entrada no es demasiado costosa. Para dos personas salió 400 pesos argentinos, lo que actualmente es alrededor de USD 1,20. Esto es para pasar el día, pero realmente conviene pagarlo porque también tiene baños en muy buenas condiciones, cosa que no se encuentra cuando uno va a sectores montañosos naturales (lógicamente, jeje).

Además el cuidado que tenía junto con el diseño, brindan un espacio muy propicio para relajarse y disfrutar de la naturaleza.

El inicio del otoño ya va dejando la típica alfombra dorada de hojas por doquier, y eso le dio un toque especial, ya que esto genera un paisaje colorido y un tanto festivo.

Por otro lado, los árboles de antaño generaban unas imágenes increíbles si uno elevaba la vista, en especial al lado del arroyo. Por un momento me sentí sumergida en un bosque, en un intento de capturar aquellas copas mágicas que buscaban acariciarse unas con otras.

The end of the trip was blessed by a pink sunset hiding behind clouds and mountains which I tried to capture as soon as I looked in the rearview mirror.

El final del viaje estuvo bendecido por un atardecer rosado ocultándose tras nubes y montañas al cual intenté capturar ni bien contemplé por el espejo retrovisor.
