This time I bring you a post of a very particular place that is precisely a bar created, not only in a train station, but precisely in a train!!! I went last weekend and I was fascinated, as I found it extremely original.

Given that it is currently quite hot in Mendoza (it should have cooled down a bit by now, but temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius continue to lurk), all the tables and scenery were set up outside. You could only enter the train to shop or go to the restroom, but you could see the tables from outside, which are the ones that are set up when the temperature drops or when it rains.

Hola mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de Pinmapple!! Es un placer estar aquí con ustedes hoy!! En esta ocasión les acerco un post de un lugar muy particular que es precisamente un bar creado, no solo en una estación de tren, sino que precisamente en un tren!! Fui el fin de semana pasado y quedé fascinada, ya que me pareció en extremo original.

Dado que en este momento está haciendo bastante calor en Mendoza (en verdad ya debería haber refrescado un poco, pero las temperaturas por sobre los 30 grados centígrados continúan al acecho), todo el montaje de mesas y escenografía estaba afuera. Solo se podía ingresar al tren para comprar o ir al baño, pero se veían las mesas desde afuera, que son las que habilitan cuando baja la temperatura o cuando llueve.

Convoy is characterized by selling different types of craft beer, so there are all the canillas with different flavors to choose from and even taste before ordering, and they also have a variety of food including pizzas, steaks, fries, burgers.

Another particularity of this place is that it is located in San Martin, a department in the east of Mendoza, which is 40-50 minutes away from the city of Mendoza, which is quite far away in the province.

El lugar estaba repleto de gente, realmente no entraba una persona más, y ese día, que fue el sábado, había una banda tocando en vivo.

Convoy se caracteriza por vender cerveza artesanal de diferentes tipos, por lo que están todas las canillas con los diferentes sabores para elegir e incluso degustar antes de hacer el pedido, y además presentan una variedad de comidas que incluye pizzas, lomos, papas fritas, hamburguesas.

Otra particularidad de este lugar, es que queda en San Martín, un departamento el este mendocino que se encuentra a 40-50 minutos de la ciudad de Mendoza, lo cual es bastante lejos en la provincia.

This department has a population that generally "moves", that is to say, they migrate to the city after finishing school, when they are 17, 18 or 19 years old, to study, and in general they do not return to San Martín to live but visit their relatives or friends on weekends or holidays.

For this reason Convoy caught my attention. Although San Martín has always had a discotheque or bar that attracted people from the city, the main intention of the visitors has always been to "get to know" the exotic enterprise in the east of Mendoza. However Convoy, with the amount of people I had and the type of entertainment I saw it offers, I think it could give a twist to this department, this restaurant could become a center of attraction much stronger than other places of food or entertainment, as it operates non-stop from 9 am until 2 am from Tuesday to Sunday. In other words, it is open almost all week, almost all day long.

Este departamento cuenta con población que por lo general se “muda”, es decir hace una emigración hacia la ciudad luego de terminar la escuela, a sus 17, 18 o 19 años, para estudiar, y por lo general no regresan a San Martín a vivir sino que mantienen visitas a sus familiares o amigos en los fines de semana o feriados.

Por este motivo Convoy me llamó bastante la atención. Si bien San Martín siempre ha tenido alguna discoteca o bar que atrajera población de la ciudad, la intención principal de los visitantes, siempre ha sido “conocer” el exótico emprendimiento del este mendocino. Sin embargo Convoy, con la cantidad de gente que tenía y el tipo de esparcimiento que vi que ofrece, creo que podría dar un giro a este departamento, pudiendo convertirse este restaurante, en un centro de atracción mucho más fuerte que otros lugares de comida o diversión, ya que funciona sin parar desde las 9 de la mañana hasa las 2 de la mañana de martes a domingo. Es decir, está abierto casi toda la semana, casi todo el día.

As you can read in the newspaper Los Andes, the wagons were restored and then put into operation as a restaurant in 2019, becoming a unique attraction in Mendoza, currently accompanied by a similar venture in Maipú (another department moderately far from the city).

En las imágenes les he ido dejando un poco de todo: la estructura del tren, la banda en vivo, la comida, el espacio en donde uno se sirve, la cantidad de gente, para que puedan hacerse una idea de lo que es este lugar.

Como puede leerse en el diario Los Andes, los vagones fueron restaurados y luego puestos en marcha como restaurante en el 2019, convirtiéndose en una atracción única en Mendoza, actualmente acompañada por un emprendimiento similar en Maipú (otro departamento medianamente alejado de la ciudad).
