Enjoying a crepe at the Chalet du Nabor in the French Alps


Hello dear friends of Foodies Bee Hive, this time I bring you a little meal from a few weeks ago, which I made in the high mountains.

It turns out that when you go up the mountain, you can see that there are different bars, restaurants and cafes, and the truth is that for a person who has been skiing or hiking for an hour or two without stopping, in the snow and cold, any of these places looks very tempting.

Although I didn't go to too many, I did visit a few. I did it mainly to share it with you and not so much out of some kind of need to eat there.

However, of course I wanted to, it happens that I usually climbed in a hurry, and rarely had the time to sit down and enjoy a moment eating something delicious there.

However, this was the case, and I took the opportunity to take some pictures to share them in Foodies Bee Hive.

In this case what I ate was very simple: a crepe with a beer.

Disfrutando de un crepe en el Chalet du Nabor en los Alpes Franceses


Hola queridos amigos de Foodies Bee Hive, en esta oportunidad les acerco una comidita de hace unas semanas atrás, que realicé en alta montaña.

Resulta que cuando una sube la montaña, puede ver que hay diferentes bares, restaurantes y cafeterías, y la verdad es que para una persona que ha estado esquiando o caminando por una o dos horas sin parar, en medio de la nieve y el frío, cualquiera de estos lugares se ve muy tentador.

Aunque no fui a demasiados, sí que visité algunos. Lo hice principalmente para compartirlo con ustedes y no tanto por algún tipo de necesidad de comer allí.

Sin embargo, claro que quería, pasa que generalmente subía apurada, y pocas veces tenía el tiempo para sentarme a disfrutar de un momento comiendo algo rico allí.

Igualmente este sí que fue el caso, y aproveché para sacar unas fotos con el objetivo de compartirlas en Foodies Bee Hive.

En este caso lo que comí fue muy sencillo: un crepe con una cerveza.

The crepe was exquisite, especially because it had chocolate from the same place, called Chalet du Nabor. It occurred to me to accompany it with a beer, which seems like an awful combination, but no, it turned out to have its harmony, hehe. I wanted a beer because I had been walking and yes the trail had been very long.

I take this post to mention that crêpes are a dessert in general from all over France, but especially from the Alps area. They are made with a light dough of flour, egg and milk, and you can add the toppings you want.

Usually the dough also has sugar, but you could remove it in case you want to make them salty, or spread them with any neutral cream.

El crepe estaba exquisito, en especial porque llevaba chocolate del mismo local, llamado Chalet du Nabor. Se me ocurrió acompañarlo con una cerveza, lo cual parece una combinación espantosa, pero no, resultó tener su armonía, jeje. Quería una cerveza porque había estado caminando y sí que el sendero había sido muy largo.

Aprovecho esta publicación para mencionar que los crêpes son un postre en general de todo Francia, pero en especial de la zona de los Alpes. Están hechos con una masa liviana de harina, huevo y leche, y les puedes colocar los toppings que desees.

Por lo general la masa también lleva azúcar, pero podrías quitarla en caso de querer hacerlos salados, o untarlos con cualquier crema neutra.

Chalet du Nabor in this case, offered sweet options, and had several combinations, so it was quite specialized in crêpes.

Regarding the beer, the combination of this cold drink in an icy environment, but with the body warm after the sport, is something excellent. It feels very pleasant to have a good beer at that altitude and temperature, so it's an experience I recommend. Although it seems like something very simple (it is), beer lovers will understand that it is something that deserves to be experienced at least once. It's like a cool beer in the middle of summer, but in reverse, hehe.

Chalet du Nabor en este caso, ofrecía opciones dulces, y tenía varias combinaciones, por lo que estaba bastante especializado en crêpes.

Con respecto a la cerveza, la combinación de esta bebida fría en un entorno helado, pero con el cuerpo caliente después del deporte, es algo excelente. Se siente muy placentera una buena cerveza a esa altura y con esa temperatura, así que es una experiencia que recomiendo. Aunque parece algo muy simple (lo es), los amantes de la cerveza entenderán que es algo que merece ser vivido al menos una vez. Es como una cerveza fresca en pleno verano, pero al revés, jeje.

I’m just wondering how cold was this place. The beer seemed like a good way to relax, the crepe was filled with chocolate on top. That’s quite interesting 😲 Also the photos got me hungry 🤤
