Get inspired by these monochromatic icicles | MONOMAD Challenge

Lately, every time I shoot, I see some black and white images, inspired by this beautiful Black and White community. There are images that cry out to be shown in monochrome, and so today I bring you these shots for the #monomad challenge.

Yesterday I shared a hike I did ascending from Morzine to almost the Avoriaz area and even if I kept walking maybe 2 or 3 hours, I would reach Switzerland.

In the middle of that ascent, and more precisely when I reached what was the end of my path that day, I began to see the effect of the cold on that vegetation that I admire for its qualities of resistance to low temperatures.

Inspírate con estos carámbanos monocromáticos | MONOMAD Challenge

Últimamente, cada vez que hago tomas, veo algunas imágenes en blanco y negro, inspirada en esta hermosa comunidad de Black and White. Hay imágenes que piden a gritos ser mostradas en monocromático, y por eso hoy les acerco estas tomas para el #monomad challenge.

Ayer compartí una caminata que realicé ascendiendo desde Morzine hasta casi la zona de Avoriaz e incluso si seguía caminando quizás 2 o 3 horas, llegaba a Suiza.

En medio de aquel ascenso, y más precisamente al llegar a lo que era el final de mi camino aquel día, empecé a ver el efecto del frío en aquella vegetación que admiro por sus cualidades de resistencia a las bajas temperaturas.

I am still touched by the fact that there are plants that simply remain green under the snow, and start to decorate the landscape as soon as the first rays of sunlight bring warmth.

What we are looking at are icicles, I studied it in my first year of Professional Geography, and this was the first time in my life that I saw real icicles.

I took off my gloves to touch them and to see how attached they were to the branches and leaves.

I wanted to "help" one, a bit driven by my human desire and curiosity to hold the icicle in my hands and be able to analyze it better, but it was clinging to the pine tree enough, and although I made a minimal attempt, I gave up, as the plant literally resisted my removal and I understood that its natural rhythm was necessary, so I stopped bothering.

Me sigue enterneciendo el hecho de que hay plantas que sencillamente permanecen verdes debajo de la nieve, y empiezan a decorar el paisaje ni bien los primeros rayos de sol aportan calor.

Lo que estamos viendo son carámbanos, lo estudie en primer año de la facultad de la carrera de Geógrafo Profesional, y esta fue la primera vez en mi vida que vi carámbanos de verdad.

Me saqué los guantes para tocarlos y para ver qué tan adheridos estaban a las ramas y hojas.

Quise “ayudar” a una, un poco impulsada por mi deseo y curiosidad de humana de tener el carámbano en mis manos y poder analizarlo mejor, pero estaba lo suficientemente aferrado al pino, y aunque hice un mínimo intento, desistí, pues literalmente la planta se resistía a que lo removiera y comprendí que era necesario su ritmo natural, así que dejé de molestar.

I visualized it in black and white, and considered it to be material for this profound community, since apart, the icicle and the landscape were one.

The cloud in the distance, as if caressing the snow-capped mountains, is exciting. As well as the tiny people seeking to conquer the immense nature.

Those people made me think about our real physical size in comparison with the planet and the Universe. But at the same time I remembered, touching that ice cone, that feeling of union that I feel when I put my hands on the earth or on the trunk of a tree. There is an infinite energy that connects us and makes us one with the whole.

Desde este zoom real que hice en el camino, en donde me detuve unos minutos a observar este minúsculo resultado de tremendo proceso natural, al levantar la vista, me encontré con el paisaje que tienen ante sus ojos ustedes mismos también.

Lo visualicé en blanco y negro, y consideré que era material para esta profunda comunidad, ya que aparte, el carámbano y el paisaje eran uno.

La nube a lo lejos, como acariciando las montañas nevadas, es emocionante. Como también las ínfimas personas buscando conquistar la inmensa naturaleza.

Aquellas personas me hicieron pensar en nuestro tamaño físico real en comparación con el planeta y con el Universo. Pero al mismo tiempo recordé, tocando aquel cono de hielo, aquella sensación de unión que siento al poner mis manos sobre la tierra o sobre el tronco de un árbol. Hay una infinita energía que nos conecta y que nos hace uno con el todo.
