Secret Park in Génova, Italy, and an evening full of surprises

Hello to everyone in the amazing Liketu community! It's a pleasure to be here again! This time I come to share a walk that I did just a few months ago in the city of Genoa, Italy.

That day, after finishing my shift as a volunteer at Victoria House Hostel, Juliette, a colleague from France, invited me to a park that she promised me I would love. And she was right!

We walked a little, then a little more, turned through some characteristic nooks and crannies of Genoa, and came to a seemingly endless climb. We climbed so much, that I didn't feel like walking any further, haha.

However, shortly after saying to him: enough, we reached a point that drove me crazy because of how beautiful it was. It offered an exquisite view of the whole city and the Mediterranean Sea. Juliette looked at me and said, "I knew you would like it".

It is a park full of plants and trees that present an almost jungle-like setting in the middle of the city. It is quite hidden, and I still don't understand how it is so big, but it is a point of Genoa to know.

In addition to providing an exceptional panoramic view, it has a beautiful waterfall inside. You can literally go into a cave and watch the water fall, and then, as you continue walking, you can see the waterfall on the other side, flowing between the rocks, surrounded by vegetation.

I stood in wonder and silence, contemplating the wonderful Genoa in front of me. While Juliette was talking to the volunteers from another hostel, I walked a bit and then left, because I had to go to the supermarket.

On my way out, I found a very small sign that said Villetta di Negro, and I wondered if this was the name of that place. So I looked it up on the Internet, and sure enough, that was the name of the place.

That day was wonderful, as I chose a different market than usual, and I discovered another part of the city. It was not pretty, and it was quite abandoned. However, it had its charm and managed to captivate me, so I took pictures and also enjoyed a moment of the old buildings that stood imposing on the other side of what seemed to be a dry river.

After doing my shopping, when it was already dark, I decided to return to the hostel, and to do so, I took a different way back than the one I had taken on the way out, so I passed by the train station.

I had another pleasant surprise when I discovered a kind of tunnel with graffiti, quite new. It was a bit dirty inside, but interesting to see, especially for me who had been there for almost a month and had already completed my tour of the tourist sites.

Genoa in this way, that improvised and surprising day, showed me that it is bigger than it seems. Later in my trip, I would discover stairways and passageways connecting different parts of the city.

I hope you like it!

With love,

@belug
