Zoom game on the Pasarelle Françoise Baud and the reflection of a Mother Nature that holds us firmly | MONOMAD Challenge

Throughout my career at Black and White, I have found that I like to work with clean, simple black and white landscapes. I think they are easier to observe and that they manage to convey a clearer message.

In this case I bring you images of the Morzine Bridge: Pasarelle Françoise Baud. I thought very carefully before editing the images in black and white, because already with their colors, it was complicated, especially some photos3.

It happened to me what usually happens to me when I shoot for the #monomad challenge, which I am participating in today with the images below, and that is that I stood in front of the bridge and the black and white scene came to my imagination.

It all started with the chairlifts and wires in the sky, and I kept looking down, thinking that all the components in front of me harmonized deliciously in monochrome, and they do.

A lo largo de mi trayectoria en Black and White, me he dado cuenta de que me gusta trabajar con paisajes en blanco y negro limpios, sencillos. Creo que son más fáciles de observar y que logran transmitir un mensaje más claro.

En este caso les acerco imágenes del puente de Morzine: Pasarelle Françoise Baud. Me lo pensé muy bien antes de editar las imágenes en blanco y negro, porque ya con sus colores, era complicado, en especial algunas fotos3.

Me pasó lo que me ocurre generalmente cuando hago tomas para el #monomad challenge, al cual participo en este día con las imágenes a continuación, y es que me paré frente al puente y se vino a mi imaginación la escena en blanco y negro.

Todo empezó con las telesillas y los cables en el cielo, y continué bajando la vista, pensando que todos los componentes frente a mí, armonizaban de manera deliciosa en monocromático, y lo hacen.

The theme in this series of photos is that there are too many elements in the landscape, and they are all at the same time a very strong concept in themselves: the mountains, the bridge with its geometry, the chairlifts, the nature, the human hand in the middle of the Alps, the precipice, construction machinery in the distance, a parking lot, the ski slope.

You can see how the frames and spouts are framing an absolutely rich and deep landscape, generating a zoom sensation that takes you to that other side.

If you look from one end of the bridge, the other becomes tiny and invites you to cross.

If you look to the sides from the middle of the bridge, the distant mountains start to make a distance game that makes you get lost: how far, how close, how in the middle of them.

El tema en esta serie de fotos, es que hay demasiados elementos en el paisaje, y todos son al mismo tiempo un concepto muy fuerte en sí mismos: las montañas, el puente con su geometría, las telesillas, la naturaleza, la mano humana en medio de los Alpes, el precipicio, maquinaria de construcción a lo lejos, una playa de estacionamiento, la pista de ski.

Pueden ir viendo cómo los marcos y caños van enmarcando un paisaje absolutamente rico y profundo, generando una sensación de zoom que te lleva hacia aquel otro lado.

Si miras desde una punta del puente, la otra se hace diminuta y te invita a cruzar.

Si observas hacia los costados desde la mitad del puente, las lejanas montañas empiezan a hacer un juego de distancia que te hace perderte: que lejos, que cerca, que en medio de ellas.

The thing is that I could not conceive this landscape in color anymore, because it completely lost its meaning for me, I can only appreciate it completely in monochrome, regardless of its own complexity.

There is an image that is my favorite in terms of clean and clear message, and it is one in which there are people walking towards me on the bridge, and if you follow behind them with your gaze, you begin to rise up the mountain, along a groove created by human beings and along which the line of cable cars extends, ascending that hill until the slope makes us think that this is the end.

Once again the idea of how beautiful globalization is clashes in my mind with the certainty of how invasive it is.

Cuestión que ya no pude concebir más este paisaje a color, porque perdió por completo el sentido para mi, solo puedo apreciarlo por completo en monocromático, independientemente de su propia complejidad.

Hay una imagen que es mi preferida en cuanto a mensaje limpio y claro, y es una en la que hay personas caminando hacia mí en el puente, y si sigues hacia atrás de ellas con tu mirada, empiezas a elevarte por la montaña, a lo largo de un surco creado por el ser humano y por el cual se extiende la línea de telecabinas, ascendiendo por aquella colina hasta que la pendiente nos hace pensar que ese es el fin.

Nuevamente chocan en mi mente la idea de lo bella que es la globalización junto a la certeza de lo invasiva que resulta.

However, who am I to judge? I make use of globalization at every step. That visit of mine was a result of what globalization does and far from saying: "I'm not joining the movement", I go and enjoy its exploits.

In the meantime, I reflect on a Mother Nature that will sustain us until she can no longer.

This complexity was created in my mind with the images that I share with you today.

Sin embargo, ¿quién soy para juzgar? Hago uso de la globalización a cada paso. Aquella visita mía fue resultado de lo que la globalización hace y lejos de decir: “no me sumo a la movida”, voy y disfruto de sus hazañas.

Mientras, reflexiono en una Naturaleza Madre que nos sostendrá hasta que no pueda más.
