Other bits of metal!

Along with my dozen ounces of copper that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago... I also saw that they were selling ounces of different types of metal. Not all quite as precious as silver or gold... or even copper, but I thought I might as well just pick up a few ounces of whatever was still in stock... just out of curiosity rather than anything else!
... and they were out of stock of most of the metal types... except for a few pieces. Sadly, the design are pretty ordinary... but it still just cool to have these little ounces of other types of metal hanging around!
So, the first one... an ounce of Aluminium. Oh weird, I just realised that Americans actually do spell that differently to Australians! And that would account for the strange way that they pronounce the name of this metal!
... anyway, it is quite strange to have a little block of this metal... most of my experience with it is in the foil that I use for cooking... and that is quite thin and weak... but now that I think about it, there are computer laptop shells and stands that are made from Aluminium, as well as other things... it just hadn't really crossed my mind! So, there you go, another shiny silver piece... but silver only in looks, and not in elemental composition!

... and that is followed by another silvery looking piece of metal. Titanium in this case... a nice little block of this, and I know that this has more industrial use cases... but if you had to quiz me off the top of my head, I wouldn't really be able to name anything. I just know that it has a reputation for being light and strong?
... and so many buffalo designs. I do wonder what the significance of the buffalo is to our American friends... is it the symbolism of the untapped West and the wide open plains?

And the last little ingot.. a little lump of Brass! This is a weird one, as it isn't an elemental metal in itself... an alloy of some sort. I do wonder why they made a brass slab... especially when all the others were just straight elemental ones... but who knows, and it was there and not that expensive, so I figured I may as well add it to the shopping cart as I was already paying for the shipping anyway!
So, a few ounces of "other" metals... not precious by any stretch of the imagination, but still sort of nerdily cool!

Wow,those are pretty cool. I have a couple garbage bags full of aluminum if you want to come snag it sometime! You just have to deal with the stale beer smell...
Haha...yeah, might pass on that. And right, another aluminium use that I forgot about!
Right now most are focused on precious metals with the jump of price of gold and silver!
Yep,getting too pricey for my stink bids...
This collecting interest route COULD evolve into the field of Metallurgy, perhaps musical metals with different metals and alloys.

I was into Heavy Metal, I'm not sure how that developed into precious metals.
!LOL
Ha ..I am tempted to collect little samples of all the elements.
