Yay, Raffle Prizes arrived!

It is the adult version of Christmas... the days and weeks after a #silvergoldstackers raffle... waiting and checking the post to see if anything has come in. Annoying the wife with endless questions about whether or not she has checked the post...
... and just like any highly anticipated thing, nothing ever happens until you aren't looking and have forgotten about it! And so it was with @bulliontools raffle prizes... I had won the last two prizes in the raffle, and in the busy-ness of the last couple of weeks with my own ensemble and then heading away from home to do more concerts... I had actually completely forgotten that there were nice shinies incoming!
But I did get a message from @bulliontools saying that his package had been picked up... and damn it, I was away in a different city. But as soon as I drove into the carport, there was only one thing on my mind (well, after greeting my family...)!
I did have to wait until after dinner and the kids going to sleep... but there was this little cardboard box that was just sitting on the table... waiting waiting waiting.
... and speaking of Christmas... you guys... how do you wrap your presents for your kids! Is it the same millions of layers of cardboard and packing tape!?!??

Weeheee... and the two prizes!

First up is a 0.625 silver German 10 mark coin! I already have a few of these in my collection, but nothing in as good as a state as this one! I couldn't believe how shiny this one was! I think I'm going to just keep it in the sleeve so that it doesn't degrade by being bounced around other coins... or maybe I'll pop it in a plastic holder.

... and the reverse, just as lovely!

Now, for the really interesting one... I'm not exactly sure which one is worth more, but I'm in the collecting more for the novelty and interesting pieces. Sure, the worth is something... but I really like the unusual designs and the odd pieces the best!
... and this Year of the Dragon gold impregnated note fits the bill (ha ha...)!

... done in lucky red (or is it demon scaring red?) on the front, and the design is in a stark gold relief on the back!
Love both the prizes, thanks heaps to @bulliontools for sending them out to the other side of the planet! Hope this post manages to cover a bit of that cost!

I'm glad they made it to you safely! 😁
Honestly, I'm so used to packages looking like they were used in a football game that I try to pretty much make them drop-kick-proof. !LOL

Drop kick proof... I think that this would definitely survived a whole game!
I try. 😁
I'm happy they finally got to you. I was wondering what took so long since the draw. Again, congratulations @bengy

Well... I do live on the other side of the planet now!
I've had orders from the USA taking well over 4 weeks to ship over the border. I believe my package has to circle the world at least twice before actual delivery to my door.
I sometimes see my tracking go from port to our city (with DHL), get handed over to the Post Office (but we have a PO BOX, so we can't take immediately delivery), and it travels back to the port... and then back to our city via the mail system. Hilarious... but slightly inefficient!
I had a favorite Ebay Seller down across the border from BC to Olympia Washington State and found his packages had to route through from San Francisco for processing first before sending it north over the border into Canada almost two weeks later. Now, it takes at least 4 weeks for a package from the US.
