The aurora over The Bakers Oven

Hey everyone!

Here is an image that I wasn't quite expecting to capture!

I always have a list of places that I want to visit for the milky way, and I always head out when we have clear nights to capture them.

I had my heart set on getting the milky way over an ocean waterfall, and I managed to get the shot, but I need a little more time to edit it before I post it.

However, i'm wondering about what time I should leave to get the shot, as the drive is about 40 minutes long, and I see a post on facebook about the aurora possibly being visible around 10:30pm. Unfortunately for me, the moon wasn't going to set until after 11pm, but thought well... i'm going to be out for hours anyway, I might as well go a little earlier and try to get another shot.

Well, the aurora wasn't totally visible but when I stacked my images there was definitely some colour there!

I've also been putting a lot of time into new techniques, both in getting my images and in the post processing side and I feel like the astro images i'm producing are are a lot better now than when I compare to the last astro season!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my images!
