Tomatoes LOVE Tennessee

Tomatoes LOVE Tennessee

Fresh vegetables

I love fresh vegetables, especially ones that I grow myself. I know what is in the soil, I know what has been sprayed on them, if anything.

This time of year, we are getting ready to start harvesting a few things, like green beans and tomatoes.

I have had a garden of sorts my entire adult life.
This was surprising to my parents because I always complained about working in the garden growing up.

One vegetable or fruit that I have always had success with is tomatoes. No matter where I have grown them, they always do well.
But since I have been in Tennessee, it has been incredible.

This picture was taken one month after translating our starter plants.

And they are loading up with tomatoes.

Very soon, we will be flooded with fresh tomatoes.

Do you have things you like to grow?

Until next time,
John Novak

I had a beautiful tomato plant that absolutely flourished. We weren't trimming it correctly, so it died, boohoo.

Anyway, lessons learned, and looking forward to some homegrown again once I get organic seeds.

I wonder how's the feeling of eating your own vegetables. I love fresh vegetables too, but I didn't know how to grow them. I think I need to study and prepare the soil first.

It gives me a little bit of quiet time. The garden is not very big.

They say gardening particularly holding soil is therapeutic. 😊

I don't fancy tomatoes much myself but it must be lovely to grow your own veggies (or fruit). I bet you will enjoy them extra if they're from own garden!

Oh rub it in why don't you! LOL!😆

Those plants of yours are absolutely gorgeous! And I am super stoked that you are going to start eating fresh maters here in a bit! That's awesome! I'm at least 60 days from that!

Thanks for sharing!

I kind of figured that would be a jab to you, lol. But in due time we will all enjoy the harvest.

They are looking good, you did quite a good work there, keeping them growing straight up.

I used a new support method that I am going to write a post about. My son-in-law showed it to me. It is called a Florida weave and it works quite well.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

I love tomatoes, but if I had on my plate those tomatoes from your first picture, I think I'd start running and jumping windows :)

Voted you on Listnerds

Zucchini got a later start, but they won't take long. Thanks for commenting, Steve.

Tomatoes are a favorite of mine, but where I live, conditions vary greatly from year to year... also, put some milk on them from time to time ... tomatoes love calcium ...

There is nothing better than a fresh homegrown tomato. If you have any extra send them my way. I haven't had a decent tomato since I move to Alabama.
