Grey Days: a cloudy day photo shoot (ENG/SPA)
Hello, internet people! The truth is that when it comes to photography, I have a lot to learn, however, it is something that I love and am passionate about, and I always try to improve the photos I take. This time I want to show you the photos I took of my favourite days: the grey days, and I also want to tell you a little bit about the context of the photos and what I did to "improve" them.
¡Hola, gente de internet! La verdad es que en cuanto a fotografía, tengo muchísimo que aprender, sin embargo, es algo que me encanta y apasiona, y siempre intento mejorar las fotos que tomo. En esta ocasión quiero enseñarles las fotos que saqué de mis días preferidos: los días grises, y también quiero contarles un poco el contexto de las fotos y lo que hice para "mejorarlas".
I took this photo with the help of a tripod, the only bad thing is that it is not well levelled (and I still haven't learnt how to readjust it in photoshop), the rest I liked it a lot. As a model I sometimes make my own portfolios, so either as a portfolio or for fun, when I'm in a nice place, I take some pictures.
Esta foto la saqué con ayuda de un trípode, lo único malo es que no está bien nivelada (y aún no aprendo como reajustarla en photoshop) del resto me gustó mucho. Como modelo, a veces yo misma me hago mis porfolios, así que tanto por si me servían como porfolio como para divertirme, cuando estoy en un sitio bonito, me saco algunas fotos.
This place was quite peaceful, there were many ducks on the lake and the sound of the birds relaxed me, as well as the cold wind. Grey clouds covered the front of the park and the dying sun was behind, still looking at the picture I can remember how I felt that afternoon in that place and that's what photography is all about, immortalising memories.
Este lugar era bastante pacífico, en el lago había muchos patos y el sonido de los pájaros me relajaba, además del viento frío. Las nubes grises cubrían la parte delantera del parque y el sol moribundo estaba detrás, aún mirando la foto puedo recordar como me sentí esa tarde en ese lugar, y de eso se trata la fotografía, de inmortalizar recuerdos.
As for the editing of the photos, I adjusted the lighting a bit because as it was cloudy to the point that the clouds were grey rather than white, the photos came out a bit dark, I also made some corrections in the colour palette and the levels of the photo, I emphasized the green of the grass and the clouds to enhance the theme of my photos (the grey days) but at the same time the colour palette did not look so monochromatic, finally I increased the intensity to give the photo vibrant colours.
En cuanto a la edición de las fotos, ajusté un poco la iluminación, ya que como estaba nublado al punto de que las nubes eran grises más que blancas, las fotos salieron un poco oscuras, además hice algunas correcciones en la paleta de colores y en los niveles de la foto, enfaticé el verde del césped y las nubes para precisamente realzar la temática de mis fotos (los días grises) pero que a la vez la paleta de colores no se viese tan monocromática, por último le subí la intensidad para darle a la foto colores vibrantes.
This other photo belongs to the same place, this esplanade and the view of the clouds enchanted me, so I decided to take this photo while I was sitting on the grass reading. For the editing I used the same techniques as in the previous one, I wanted to highlight the clouds and the grass to create prominence and contrast, I really liked the result.
Esta otra foto pertenece al mismo lugar, esta explanada y la vista de las nubes me encantó, así que decidí hacer esta foto mientras estaba sentada en el césped leyendo. Para la edición trabajé las mismas técnicas que en la anterior, quise resaltar las nubes y el césped para crear protagonismo y contraste, el resultado me gustó muchísimo.
This photo belongs to another day that I was walking around Bogotá, more precisely on the 7th (avenue). Bogotá is almost always cloudy, so for me it is perfect in this aspect, this part of the city is very beautiful and there was a lot to capture, the pedestrians, the street, the buildings and of course the cloudy sky.
Esta foto pertenece a otro día que estuve dando un paseo por Bogotá, más precisamente por la 7ma (una avenida). Bogotá casi siempre está nublado, así que para mi es perfecta en este aspecto, esta parte de la ciudad es muy bonita y además había mucho para capturar, los peatones, la calle, los edificios, y por supuesto, el cielo nublado.
I wanted a vertical open shot to capture all the elements I have already mentioned. In editing I increased the exposure a bit to lighten the photo and in levels I enhanced the sky to give prominence to the grey clouds, I also intensified the colours of the photo.
Quise un plano vertical abierto para poder capturar todos los elementos que ya mencioné. En edición le subí un poco a la exposición para aclarar la foto, y en niveles realcé el cielo para darle protagonismo a las nubes grises, asimismo intensifiqué los colores de la foto.
This photo is clearly from the same day, I made the same fixes in the photograph, the only thing that changes (apart from my pose) is the shot because I wanted to portray the length of the 7th (at least as far as I could see).
Esta foto claramente es del mismo día, hice los mismo arreglos en la fotografía, lo único que cambia (además de mi pose) es el plano porque quería retratar la longitud de la 7ma (al menos lo que se alcanzase a ver)
In this photo you can see the Liévano Palace in the background, and of course, also the grey clouds that covered the sky that day (shortly after it rained like you have no idea). It was very cold but that didn't stop me from enjoying the day.
En esta foto se puede ver de fondo El Palacio Liévano, y como no, también las nubes grises que cubrían el cielo ese día (poco después llovió como no tienen una idea) hacía muchísimo frío pero no por eso dejé de disfrutar el día.
For the editing I gave the palette a cyan colouring because the photo itself is cold in its colour palette and also the building in the background has many reddish tones so I wanted to balance it, I also gave more light to the photo and emphasised the colour of the clouds so that the imminent storm that came later would be the protagonist 😊.
Para la edición le di a la paleta una coloración cian dado a que la foto de por sí es fría en su paleta de colores y además el edificio de fondo tiene muchos tonos rojizos así que quise equilibrarlo, además le di más luz a la fotografía y enfaticé el color de las nubes para que la inminente tormenta que vino luego fuese la protagonista 😊
Finally, this picture is similar in composition, but in the background is the National Capitol, with the national flag flying over it due to the cold wind. Despite the number of people in the square, it was a fairly peaceful place.
Por último, esta foto es similar en cuanto a composición, sin embargo lo que está de fondo es el Capitolio Nacional con la bandera del país ondeando encima, debido al frío viento. Pese a la cantidad de gente que se ve en la plaza, era un sitio bastante pacífico.
For the editing, I once again lightened it with the help of exposure and curves, I also gave the photo cyan tones and also enhanced the colour of the clouds. I really liked the result.
Para la edición, una vez más la aclaré con ayuda de la exposición y las curvas, además le di tonalidades cian a la foto y además realcé el color de las nubes. me gustó mucho el resultado.
