Hello, hello, internet folks! How are you doing? This week's questions made me laugh because they fit me perfectly—haha, because I have a couple of anecdotes that, while they make me crack up now, were really embarrassing at the time.
¡Hola, Hola, gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? Las preguntas de esta semana me hicieron reír porque se ajustan perfectamente a mi, jaja porque tengo un par de anécdotas que, si bien ahora me hacend esternillar de risa, en su momento fueron muy vergonzosas.
1️⃣ What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you, something you’ve even laughed about yourself? Tell us about your experience.
1️⃣¿Qué es lo más vergonzoso que te ha pasado alguna vez, algo de lo que incluso te has reído? Cuéntanos tu experiencia.
My first experience with embarrassment happened when I was five years old; I was in the middle of a school performance, dancing on stage with my classmates, when I suddenly had a wardrobe malfunction and my skirt fell down. Of course, I was wearing shorts underneath, but while the memory makes me laugh now that I’m an adult, at the time I was incredibly embarrassed and wanted to get off the stage immediately.
Mi primera experiencia con la verguenza me ocurrió a los cinco años, yo estaba en pleno acto escolar, bailando en el escenario con mis compañeras, cuando de pronto tuve un fallo en mi vestario y se me cayó la falda, obviamente yo tenía unos shorts debajo de mi falda pero aunque ahora que soy adulta ese recuerdo me da mucha risa, en esa época me dio muchísima verguenza y quería bajar del escenario enseguida.
Another embarrassing moment I experienced was back when I was a teenager; there was a boy from high school I really liked. Feeling like a modern girl, I wanted to take the initiative, so I gathered my courage—and despite being incredibly nervous and a bit embarrassed—I told him how I felt. However, he turned me down very diplomatically and respectfully, explaining that he had a girlfriend. Looking back on it now, I think he acted very sensibly and kindly; he remained true to his feelings for his girlfriend, something I deeply value and respect. But at the time—facing that rejection—I felt terribly embarrassed.
El otro momento vergonzoso que tuve fue cuando era adolescente, había un chico de la escuela secundaria que me gustaba mucho, y yo, sintiénome toda una chica moderna quise tomar la inciiativa, así que me arme de valor y, aunque moría de nervios y un poco de verguenza, le dije lo que sentía por él, le declaré mis sentimientos, pero él, muy diplomática y respetuosamente me rechazó aduciendo que tenía novia. Hoy en día, mirando hacia atrás, recordando el hecho pienso que él actuo de manera muy sensata y amable, fue fiel a sus sentimientos por su novia y es algo que yo valoro y respeto muchísimo, pero en su momento, es decir, al sentir el rechazo, me dio muchísima verguenza.
2️⃣ Are you a fashion enthusiast? Do you follow trends, or do you simply wear what you like and what makes you feel comfortable?
¿Eres un entusiasta de la moda? ¿Sigues las tendencias o simplemente vistes lo que te gusta y te hace sentir cómoda?
Yes, the truth is that I’m a fashion enthusiast—even without consciously setting out to be one. I enjoy evaluating new trends; for instance, I love South Korean fashion, where short skirts are common but the tops are more modest. However, I don’t stick to just one style; I dress according to the occasion and even my mood—sometimes opting for a more urban, comfortable look, and other times going for something fancier—while always staying true to my own tastes. I do keep an eye on new trends, but with a critical eye; I don’t like following them aimlessly, as fashion has its own rules, and certain styles work best depending on skin tone, height, and body shape.
Sí, la verdad es que incluso sin proponérmelo soy una entusiasta de la moda, me gusta evaluar nuevas tendencias, amo la moda estilo Crorea del Sur, por ejemplo, donde predminan las faldas cortas pero es más discreto en la parte de arriba, sin embargo no me apegó a un solo estilo, me visto de acuerdo a la ocasión y hasta mi estado de ánimo, algunas veces más urbano y cómodo, en otras más fancy, pero siempre siendo fiel a mis propios gustos. Suelo revisar nuevas tendencias pero con ojo crítico, no me gusta seguirla sin un propósito definido, ya que hay que tomar en cuenta que la moda tiene sus propias reglas y hay estilos definidos según tonos de piel, estatura y morfología.
