Ladies of Hive Community Contest #300 [ESP/ENG]
Childhood is one of the most beautiful times of life—at least for most people. Mine, thank God, was a wonderful period filled with innocence and happiness; we were never wealthy at home, yet we lacked nothing. We had food, education, culture, recreation, clothing, footwear, toys, and, above all, an abundance of love—one of the most important elements in raising a child.
La niñez es una de las épocas más bonitas, al menos para la mayoría de las personas, la mía, gracias a Dios fue una etapa preciosa, llena de inocencia y felicidad, nunca fuimos ricos en casa pero tampoco nos faltaba nada, tuvimos alimentos, educación, cultura, recreación, ropa, calzado, juguetes y sobre todo muchísimo amor que es uno de los elementos más importantes en la crianza de un niño.
1️⃣ As a child, which was your favorite Fairy Tale story and how much did you believe in it?
1️⃣Cuando era niño, ¿Cuál era su cuento de hadas favorito y cuánto creía en él?
My favorite childhood fairy tale was always *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs*; I loved the tender, sweet way the princess treated the dwarfs. She cared for them with maternal love and took care of the housework while they worked hard in the mines; plus, despite being a princess, she never felt superior to anyone. However, another story I really loved hearing was *Beauty and the Beast* (obviously, I wasn't told the original Brothers Grimm versions, but rather the softened ones adapted for millennial kids, haha). In *Beauty and the Beast*, I enjoyed watching the characters' transformation and growth—seeing the Beast go from being a controlling, hot-tempered creature to a noble, fair one, finding redemption through the humility of his new state—though I have to admit, the idea of entering a dark castle inhabited by a beast did scare me a little, haha! 😄
Mi cuento de hadas favorito en la niñez siempre fue Blancanieves y los siete enanitos, me gustaba la manera tan tierna y dulce en que la princesa trataba a los enanitos, ella los cuidó con amor maternal y se dedicó a las labores de la casa mientras ellos también trabajaban duro en la mina, además a pesar de ser una princesa nunca se sintió superior a nadie, pero otro cuento que me gustaba mucho oír era el de La Bella y la Bestia (Obviamente que no me contaban las versiones originales del los cuentos de los hermanos Grimm sino las más suavizadas, adaptadas para niños millenials jaja) en la Bella y la Bestia me gustaba ver esa transición y crecimiento de personajes en el cuál la bestia pasa de ser un ser controlador e iracundo a un ser noble y justo, porque en la humildad de su nueva condición encontró redención, aunque cuando yo me imaginaba entrando a un castillo oscuro en el que habitaba una bestia me daba un poco de miedo jaja 😄
2️⃣ What is something you believed as a child that you later found out was not true?
2️⃣¿Qué es algo que creías cuando eras niño y que luego descubriste que no era cierto?
One of the things I believed in blindly relates to the previous question 😄: I could have sworn that Disney princesses were absolutely real and lived in a dreamlike place. I also believed in elves and fairies, thinking they lived in the woods or in nature—in tree hollows, under leaves, and so on. It was a truly beautiful belief I held throughout my childhood, fueled by children's stories and, especially, by Peter Pan.
Una de las cosas en las que yo creía ciegamente tiene que ver con la pregunta anterior 😄 pues yo podía jurar que las princesas de Disney eran totalmente reales y que habitaban en un lugar de ensueño, por otra parte también creía en duendes y en hadas, yo pensaba que vivían en los bosques o en al naturaleza en general (en los huecos de los árboles, debajo de las hojas etc...) Era una creencia muy pero muy bonita que tuve durante toda mi niñez, alentada por historias infantiles y en especial por Peter Pan.

While Cinderella holds top spot in my youth, to me, The Beauty and the Beast fairy tail rings more of a metaphor in real life, and the journey of the hero is just as vital as that of the heroine to make the story reach it's climax.
