My First Birthday [Jueves de TBT] ESP/ENG
Hello, hello, internet folks! How are you doing? Today I decided to join in on this fun initiative about birthday photos, and let me tell you... I’m making a huge effort here because I actually hate all the photos of myself as a child. However, these are from when I was a baby—photos from my very first birthday. Obviously, I don't remember any of it, but from what I can see in the pictures, it was a super fun party attended by kids I don't know—or well, heh, at least I don't remember them. At Latin parties, it’s customary to have a piñata that matches the party's theme; in my case, it was Minnie Mouse. My mom says I was one of those rare kids who wasn't scared of their own piñata, heh 😄.
¡Hola Hola, gente de internet!, ¿Cómo están? Hoy decido participar en esta divertida iniciativa sobre fotos de cumpleaños, y les voy a decir algo… estoy haciendo un esfuerzo enorme porque yo detesto todas las fotos que tengo de niña, sin embargo estas son de cuando era bebé, son las fotos de mi primer cumpleaños. Obviamente yo no recuerdo nada de eso pero por lo que pude ver en las fotos fue una fiesta divertidísima a la que asistieron niños que no conozco o bueno, jeje al menos no los recuerdo. En todas las fiestas latinas la gente acostumbra a tener piñatas con el motivo principal de la fiesta, en mi caso fue de Minnie Mouse y dice mi mamá que yo era de esos pocos niños a los que no les daba miedo su propia piñata jeje 😄.
The ones I do recognize are my cousins—who were obviously very young back then—hitting the piñata to get the treats; you can tell that my cousins Daniel, Manuel, and Jhon were the wildest ones, haha.
A los que sí reconozco es a mis primos que obviamente en ese entonces eran muy pequeños, allí estaban golpeando la piñata para obtener las recompensas, y se nota que mis primos Daniel, Manuel y John eran los más salvajes jaja 😄
It’s amazing to see how time flies, because I can recognize my neighbors and lifelong friends there when they were just little kids—hehe—but in the first photo, I might have been tired of posing, since I’m clearly crying.
Es impresionante ver como pasa el tiempo porque allí puedo reconocer a mis vecinos y amigos (de toda la vida) estando muy pequeños, jeje pero en la primera foto quizá yo estaba cansada de posar porque claramente estoy llorando.
There I am, at the moment the Minnie-shaped cake is being cut; I am in my mother's arms, and it surprises me to see how much everyone in that photo has changed: my sister was about twelve—small and dark-haired, unlike now that she is blonde—my mother looked younger, and my cousins looked so tiny.
Allí estoy a la hora de cortar la torta en forma de Minnie, estoy en brazos de mi mamá y me sorprende ver lo mucho que han cambiado todos los que aparecen en esa foto, mi hermana tenía unos doce años, era pequeña y morena a diferencia de ahora que es rubia, mi mamá se veía más joven y mis primos se veían tan pequeños.
