Era una tarde calurosa y el sol brillaba más que todo los días, María no aguantaba el calor y sin pensarlo fue al río para refrescarse, se quito la ropa sin preocuparse que alguien a escondía estaría, se metió a nadar sin darse cuenta que a orillas detrás de una gran roca Pedro estaría, él había ido en busca de un poco de agua fría. Muy entusiasmado con el paisaje que se le ofrecía, decide no hacer ruido y seguir como vigía. Al pasar el rato se da cuenta que el agua se movía, al alzar la vista observa que un gran caimán estaba en las cercanías, ve sus negros y enormes ojos asomarse sobre el agua misma, esta tan asustado que no piensa en avisarle a María. No, su instinto le dice que corra al pueblo para avisar lo que se venia. Cuando regresa con ayuda, ya María no estaría y el cocodrilo patas arribas se hallaría, lleno de la comida que disfrutaría.

Me inspire en la canción de nuestros Tío Simón Díaz. Para todo venezolano el fue maestro de maestros, quien nos contaba lindas historias en sus canciones y una de ellas es Mercedes. Para el que no la conoce, ya te hice un resume de la misma. Aunque esta historia no termina bien para Mercedes tiene un gran atractivo y es conocida a todo lo largo y ancho del país.

It was a hot afternoon and the sun was shining more than any other day, María could not stand the heat and without thinking about it went to the river to cool off, he took off his clothes without worrying that someone was hiding, he went for a swim without realizing that Pedro would be on the shore behind a big rock, he had gone in search of some cold water. Very excited with the scenery that was offered, he decided to keep quiet and continue as a lookout. After a while he noticed that the water was moving, when he looked up he saw that a big alligator was nearby, he saw its black and huge eyes peeking out over the water itself, he was so scared that he didn't think of telling María. No, his instinct tells him to run to town to warn her of what was coming. When he returns with help, María is gone and the crocodile is upside down and full of the food he has just eaten.

I was inspired by the song of our Uncle Simón Díaz. For all Venezuelans he was a teacher of teachers, who told us beautiful stories in his songs and one of them is Mercedes. For those who do not know it, I have already made a summary of it. Although this story does not end well for Mercedes, it has a great attraction and is known throughout the length and breadth of the country.
