Mi hijo construyó una mesa de ping pong [ESP-ENG]

Hola madres y padres, estos días mi hijo Andrés ha estado muy ocupado en un proyecto que se trazó en conjunto con su papá, resulta que siempre había querido aprender a jugar ping pong o tenis de mesa, mi esposo en su juventud asistía a un club donde con sus amigos jugaban este deporte.

Cada vez que íbamos a una tienda de deporte, preguntaban por el kit del juego que trae las raquetas, malla y pelotas, pero no habían tenido la oportunidad de adquirir uno ya que también nos hacía falta la mesa. Hace unas semana después de realizar unas diligencias llegaron a la casa con el kit del juego (cuatro raquetas, malla y tres pelotas), una tabla de madera MDF (fibra de densidad media) y todos lo necesario para ellos mismos elaborar una mesa de ping pong.

Hi moms and dads, these days my son Andres has been very busy with a project that he and his dad have worked on together, it turns out that he had always wanted to learn how to play ping pong or table tennis, my husband in his youth attended a club where he and his friends played this sport.

Every time we went to a sport store, they would ask for the game kit that comes with rackets, net and balls, but they had not had the opportunity to buy one because we also needed the table. A few weeks ago, after running some errands, they came home with the game kit (four rackets, netting and three balls), an MDF (medium density fiberboard) and everything they needed to make a ping pong table for themselves.

En ese momento comenzó el trabajo para hacer la mesa. Yo le dije a mi esposo que necesitaba un sellador de madera ya que en una oportunidad trabajé con ese material y sé que la madera MDF tiende a absorber la pintura, pero él preguntó en la ferretería y le recomendaron pintura pizarra que es la que se usa para pintar superficies donde luego se va a escribir con tiza. Bueno, el compró de esta pintura color verde y así no necesitó sellar la madera.

Andrés fue el encargado de todo el trabajo y por eso traigo esta historia para ustedes, porque a veces creemos que nuestros hijos no son capaces de hacer algo porque consideramos que están pequeños o simplemente porque no les damos responsabilidades para que ellos demuestren de lo que son capaces, hay momentos en los que debemos confiar en sus habilidades y otorgarles esas responsabilidades, de seguro te van a sorprender con sus talentos.

I told my husband that I needed a wood sealer since I once worked with that material and I know that MDF wood tends to absorb the paint, but he asked at the hardware store and they recommended chalkboard paint which is the one used to paint surfaces where you are going to write with chalk. Well, he bought this green paint so he didn’t need to seal the wood.

Andres was in charge of all the work and that is why I bring this story to you, because sometimes we believe that our children are not capable of doing something because we consider that they are small or simply because we do not give them responsibilities for them to show what they are capable of, there are times when we must trust in their abilities and give them those responsibilities, for sure they will surprise you with their talents.

Este no fue un trabajo de un día, ya que tuvo que pintar varias capas de color verde hasta cubrir la superficie, luego con una regla medir de 2 centímetros las franjas de los laterales, colocar el tirro o cinta y luego pintar en blanco, varias capas también. Se me olvidó comentarles que está mesa tiene las medidas de una mesa profesional que son 2,74 metros de largo y 1,525 metros de ancho. Cómo les dije es un trabajo que le llevó casi una semana, yo esporádicamente le tomaba fotos porque quería contarles el proyecto de mi hijo, aunque se me olvidó tomar una al principio con la tabla en su color natural.

Una vez terminada la mesa empezaron las clases con el papá, al principio no le fue muy bien y eso nos divertía muchísimo, pero ya al segundo y tercer día sus habilidades para el ping pong fueron mejorando, no tanto como para competir con los japonés en las olimpiadas pero hay va poco a poco.

Once the table was finished the classes with his dad began, at the beginning he did not do very well and that amused us a lot, but by the second and third day his ping pong skills were improving, not enough to compete with the Japanese in the Olympics but there he goes little by little.
