Zero boredom in teaching work. [ENG-ESP]

The days of a teacher are all different, working with children makes spontaneity and creativity the daily bread, even if you have everything very well planned on paper, I mean the daily planning notebook that every teacher should carry, if you do not have it is very frowned upon and impractical to get to the classroom to throw arrows all over the place, What I have just said may not be understood in other parts of the world, but it refers to the fact that if a teacher arrives to his classroom and has not planned the knowledge he wants to transmit, he will surely waste the whole day talking about many things without getting to any of them.

On the other hand, it can also happen that the teacher is a military woman who wants everything to take place in an orderly and timed manner because she has planned it that way. Well, in both cases, in my opinion, it is very wrong, since within the learning situation there should be an open field for the exchange of knowledge, dialogue and even confrontation, since in this way communicative encounters that can nurture the learning of all, including the teacher, will be propitiated. Because with children you never know.

Another of the things that makes possible that every day is different in a classroom, are the strategies that the teacher puts into practice with their students, sometimes they are usually small things like a reading that can then be analyzed, but also more elaborate and more time consuming work that require it to take a whole school day, in this publication I want to share two of those strategies that I have applied in the classroom making it more spontaneous and creative.

The elaboration of a mind map, we all know that this technique is used to organize information through words and drawings, but in the classroom it can be more than that, as it serves for students to demonstrate or improve their ability to work in teams, develop their creativity and read to synthesize information. My experience with this strategy was gratifying because the students concentrated on their work and although the time on paper was not the same as in practice, as I said at the beginning, since in my notebook I had planned that the elaboration and socialization would be done on the same day, it could not be so, so they only finished the mind map and the socialization was done the next day.

My 3rd graders are in the stage of learning the multiplication tables. I didn’t want it to be a stormy experience for them, so we play daily math Bingo, which started when I asked them to make a card at home with the help of mom or dad to play bingo, on them they had to place the numbers that I provided them and that are the results of the multiplication tables up to 10, I gave them 8 numbers for each letter and they had to choose 5, that way all the cards would be different. In our moments to play bingo I sing one of the multiplication operations, for example: 3 X 4 and the children must mark on their card the result in case they have selected the number at the moment of elaborating the card. In this activity we can spend the whole day, since for them we are not only learning the tables but we are having fun at the same time that we do a collaborative work because we do it in pairs.

These are some of the many examples of situations that can occur in the classroom, what is certain and what I want to make clear is that the work of a teacher is not routine, there will always be new things to do, there will always be a child that makes you smile and also as a teacher it is your responsibility that for your students is not boring to attend school.

Los días de una maestra son todos diferentes, trabajar con niños hace que la espontaneidad y la creatividad sean el pan de cada día, así tengas todo muy bien planificado en papel, me refiero al cuaderno de planificación diaria que toda maestra debe llevar, si no lo tiene es muy mal visto y poco práctico que se llegue al aula de clase a tirar flechas por todos lados, lo que acabo de decir, tal vez no se entienda en otras partes del mundo, pero se refiere a que si una maestra llega a su aula de clases y no tiene planificado los conocimientos que quiere transmitir, seguramente perderá todo el día hablando sobre muchas cosas sin llegar a ninguna.

Por otro lado también puede ocurrir que la maestra sea un oficial militar que quiere que todo se lleve a cabo de manera ordenada y cronometrada porque de esa manera ella la planificó. Bueno, en los dos casos a mi parecer está muy mal, ya que dentro de la situación de aprendizaje se debe dar campo abierto a un intercambio de saberes, al diálogo y hasta la confrontación ya que de esa manera se propiciarán encuentros comunicativos que pueden llegar a nutrir el aprendizaje de todos, incluyendo a la maestra. Porque con los niños nunca se sabe.

Otra cosa que hace posible que todos los días sean diferentes en un aula de clases, son las estrategias que la maestra pone en práctica con sus estudiantes, en ocasiones suelen ser cosas pequeñas como una lectura que luego puede ser analizada, pero también trabajos más elaborados con más tiempo que requiera que se tome toda una jornada escolar, en esta publicación quiero compartir dos de esas estrategias que he aplicado en el aula de clase logrando convertirla en más espontanea y creativa.

La elaboración de un mapa mental, todos sabemos que está técnica es usada para organizar a través de palabras y dibujos una información, pero en el aula de clase puede ser más que eso, porque sirve para que los estudiantes demuestren o mejoren su habilidad para trabajar en equipo, desarrollen su creatividad y lean para sintetizar una información. Mi experiencia con esta estrategia fue gratificante porque los estudiantes se concentraron en sus trabajos y aunque el tiempo en papel no fue el mismo que en la práctica, como dije al principio, ya que en mi cuaderno había planificado que la elaboración y socialización se llevaría a cabo el mismo día, no pudo ser de esa manera, así que solo terminaron el mapa mental y la socialización se realizó al día siguiente.

Mis estudiantes de 3er grado de primaría están en la etapa de aprender las tablas de multiplicar. No quise que fuera una experiencia tormentosa para ellos, así que diariamente jugamos Bingo matemático, que empezó cuando solicité que en casa con ayuda de mama o papá hicieran un cartón para jugar bingo, en ellos debían colocar los números que les proporcioné y que son los resultados de las tablas de multiplicar hasta la del 10, le di 8 números por cada letra y ellos debían escoger 5, de esa manera todos los cartones serian diferentes. En nuestros momentos para jugar bingo canto una de las operaciones de multiplicar, por ejemplo: 3 X 4 y los niños deben marcar en su cartón el resultado en el caso que haya seleccionado el número al momento de elaborar el cartón. En esta actividad podemos pasar todo el día, por que para ellos no solo estamos aprendiendo las tablas sino nos estamos divirtiendo a la vez que también realizamos trabajo colaborativo porque lo hacemos en parejas.

Estos son unos de los muchos ejemplos de las situaciones que se pueden dar dentro del aula de clase, lo que si es seguro y quiero dejar claro es que el trabajo de una maestra no es rutinario, siempre habrá cosas nuevas que hacer, siempre habrá un niño que te saque una sonrisa y también como maestra es tu responsabilidad que para tus estudiantes no sea aburrido asistir a la escuela.
