Comfort and success: can they exist together?

For a while now, I have been earning a decent amount of money from working in a government hospital. I don't have to do so much. I just have to do the barest minimum and I will be smiling to the bank at the end of the month.

This has been pretty comfortable. However, it doesn't feel like I am learning so much.

I feel an internship should be an avenue for learning. However, the work is so tedious that learning becomes a herculean task.

This gave me a lot of worries and is I spoke to one of my seniors and asked him what do I need to stay relevant in my profession?

He said a few things and I resonated vibrantly with one of his ideas. He said, To be rich in this profession, you need to be out of your comfort zone.
You need to do more than the regular intern.

Today, another of my friend who is one of the most motivated doctors I know chatted me up.
She was down and she needed moral support. She said her strength was failing her.

She needed some motivation from me.

I sent her this

keep doing your best, try to be above average and you will be fine.

A lot of people want to be successful but only a few are willing to pay the price.

One of the prices is trying to be way above average. The funny thing is most people are okay being average.

Do you know some people can't give up their sleep for success? I don't get it but people will sleep off rather than grind to be out of the hard situation

A lot of people can't leave that comfort zone to get what they want?

I get it the comfort zone is more like the ideal space but trust me, nothing happens there.

The truth is the price to pay is no joke.

How many times do you think of growing past where you have been. How many times have you opened a book to add to your knowledge?

The richest men in the world read at least 1 book per week.

They are continuous learners yet you hear people say things like I don't like reading.

Once, you don't intentionally grow in what you are doing, you can't be successful.

The key here is intentional growth.

Look at every man you know who is successful, they are intentional about their growth.

I don't pride myself as a successful person or a know-all but what I can say is I try my best to grow at every level and challenge myself to everything.

A lot of things about success is mindset and perspective. Some people see problems, while others see challenges and while some see opportunity.

Successful people see opportunities and challenges, weak people see problems.

I remember when I started this year, I said to myself that I needed 10000 dollars this year.

After saying that, I asked myself am I doing what it takes to get to that goal.

If you are going to be successful, you have to be enthusiastic about your goal.

You have to win the battles that come with each day.

Enthusiasm is key in getting to your goal faster. This enthusiasm is what makes you give your best.

You might be asking how can I get enthusiastic?
The truth is that you need to love what you are doing?
Does this mean that you must always do what you love to be successful?

The answer is No. Sometimes, you have to do things you don't like to obtain what you want.
In that, you have to still do your best.

This is just my thought for the night.

Are you doing things that are drawing you towards your goal?

If yes, is it actively pushing you or passively pushing you?

This year should be a year of achieving goals and to do that, we have to be intentional about our plans.

Thank you for reading.
