Here is my entry for @psos  A-Z music challenge, today i'm on bands or songs starting with the letter R.

Well here we are again and another letter that is band heavy, so many to choose from but i'll try something from the less obvious, although Rage against the machine, Radiohead and Red hot chilli peppers should at least get a shout out. My first choice is a band that although at the time I was a young kid when they appeared on top of the pops I turned to my mum and said "that's your friend" with a wry smile she said yes it is. Her friend was none other than Brian Eno, who was in fact her boyfriends buddy. In later years while digging through my mothers photo collection I came across some cool photos of them all in flamboyant costumes my mum dress as a geisha girl stood between Brian Ferry and Eno, it seems your parents have a life before kids come along and level them out. From the iconic album, For your pleasure and performed on The old grey whistle test this is "Do the strand".

In the late 80' and early 90's I was totally embroiled in the UK rave scene working a security team and hosting my own illegal gatherings in makeshift venues throughout southern England. I worked with Spiral tribe and Armageddon sound system both a part of the new age traveler scene. Although hosting hardcore raves when chilling with these guys their music taste was quite different and appealed to me as I had always been a lover of Punk Ska and Dub music. Bands like "Back to the planet" and RDF re-awakened me from my house music coma and got me going back to live music via free festivals and later back to the world of controlled and way too expensive corporate festivals. From the album Borderline cases this is "Surplus people" what the hell to make up for no video here's another one the title track "Borderline".

Go on then just for a bit of fun this is Richard Cheese a comedy lounge singer with his cover of 2 live crew's song "me so horny".

Cheers for stopping by see you all next time, stay safe folks.
