Setting Up My Home Brew Bar

These fixture finally arrived on Saturday and I can finally get my coffee setup out of it's box and start brewing and recording coffee trials.

Called in a carpenter yesterday to get the wooden fixtures in place. The main plank is a custom 15" X 35" tamarind wood supported by 3 Ebco UTSB30-25 AT wall mounted brackets.

Now since this is natural wood, there is a slight bend in the body but I suppose it's manageable.

Plus I had to get a hole done in the corner to get the electric cables through.

The two wooden floating shelves above are of 18" and 12", this is something I got off Amazon.

Here's a few pointers if you plan on setting up a brew bar at home (For Manual Brews Only) This setup wouldn't be to the mark if you plan on getting a bigger espresso machine.

  1. Preparing The Ideal Workspace:

Choose an area in your home that is clean and clutter free. You'll need a flat surface for your equipment and a nearby power source if you're using electric equipment. Make sure you have good enough and a comfortable space to work with. I pick a location close to the window so that I could get direct sunlight on it which would be great for me because of all the videos and photos I plan on taking.

  1. Choose Your Equipment:

The second step in setting up your brew bar is to choose the equipments that you'll need. There are a few essential pieces of equipment that you'll need to get started, including a grinder, a scale, and a brewing method of your choice.

Grinder - A good quality grinder is essential for getting the perfect grind size for your chosen brewing method. You can choose between a manual or electric grinder, depending on your preference and budget.

I currently don't have a grinder due to budget constraints at the moment, but I'll soon be taking a manual hand grinder because that is affordable at the moment, planing to acquire a Timemore Chestnut C2, we'll see how it goes.

Scale - A scale is an absolute must for accurately measuring the coffee and water ratios for your chosen brewing method. A digital coffee scale is the best option as it provides precise measurements upto 0.1g

Brewing Method - There are many different brewing methods to choose from, including Pourover, French Press, AeroPress, Syphon and many more. Choose the method that you prefer or experiment with different methods to find your favorite.

I've started off with Pourovers, will be getting a Aeropress next and then The Flair 58

Other equipment that you may want to consider includes a kettle for heating water, a thermometer for checking water temperature, and a timer for timing your brew.

Looks beautiful doesn’t it, I got all of this set up done in the first week of April and it has been in my drafts since then 💔 it's just been so busy at work, but i've also tried a variety of coffee's since then and got a bunch of friends to get me coffee roasted in Qatar, San Francisco & New York City.

Hopefully i'll write about them soon, until next time folks ❤️

Wow, so coffee is a science and I need a degree to make it. Awesome! Please name your college. Lol and I’ll try to get the same degree that you’ve managed to get.
BTW, everything looks super awesome and the wooden stand is classic. Beautiful job!

Don't apologise, life happens. I'm happy that you got around to setting this up. I like the simplicity of the display:)

I absolutely love this!
This work and enjoyment space is phenomenal, is just right and has that minimalist look that usually goes hand in hand with these delicate coffee brewing methods. It's simple but you have almost everything you need, I hope you can soon get your hands on that grinder and make it a full experience. I have no doubt that your next contribution to the community in this set up will be wonderful, best of luck!.
