Last week i was at the Khlong Toey markets the biggest wet market in Bangkok city and as i said last wek this Khlong Toey market is huge is why i need to split it up into a few posts today i am going to show you the seafood section of this huge market.

As i walking down these endless rows of seafood isles it was like been underwater in a ocean fish not swimming but flying out of there trays that's how fresh they are still wiggling around and jumping out of there trays a couple times they landed in front of me it was like playing side stepping the fishes and eels landing in front of me 🙂

Look closely at this photo you with see a fish in mid air jumping out of the tray 😅

Some sections can get a bit bloody and raw as you walking down these rows and rows of seafood so if your a bit faith hearted it might not be a good idea for you to be wondering around in this section of the market maybe stick to the fruits and veggies or cloths and handbags...lol.

Looking at all these prawns was making me so hungry for prawns i wanted to BBQ them right there with a couple of cold beers to go with it.

Squids are my other delicacy as with seafood nicely BBQ with some chili and lemon and they had mountains of squids in this wet market it did make me wonder would they sell all this seafood by closing time.

Crabs was the other seafood that they had in abundance i love crabs if someone breaks them up for me otherwise it's to much effort for me i can never seem to break them up the right way and end up eating shell and all 😅

dsc07110.jpg

dsc07108.jpg

Shells , Snails and other types of shells were all here also.

khlong_toey_slum_khlong_toey_markets_august_2020_samsung_a_244.jpg

dsc07109.jpg

You do get a lot of restaurant owners coming to this wet market buying up loads of seafood so i would image most would be sold by the end of the day and if your wondering when you go into a seafood restaurant or street vendor barbecuing fish or squid this is where it's come from.

And if your wondering why are those fish so bloody red it's not my camera it's the red umbrellas casting that red shade over the seafood.

As with the prices each 30 baht is $1 US dollar so you see a ticket which has 60 written on it means $2 US a kilo pretty cheap seafood...yeah...well i hope you enjoyed Part-2 of Seafood i will be back next week with Part-3.

If I could give this 500% upvote, I think I would! The seafood shown here is off the charts! I cannot think of anything that is not there, and by there, I mean in abundance! I am positive that I have never seen so much seafood in one place, ever. And I have lived on the water much of my life. Still, I am looking at the freshness factor, the ability to choose whatever you want, and KNOW that it was just freshly caught.

I can imagine that this would be the place for all of my seafood needs to be met, especially if I were a restaurant or any food establishment. Is the market near the Gulf or do they have to truck it in? My seafood market is right on the water, so they just unload the boats right there. That makes the best sense, but, sometimes the real estate is not available. I have never seen turtles sold like that! I love turtle soup, but, pretty sure I wouldn't be able to make it... although, I will throw a lobster in a pot, all day long! Oh, my! Did you just hear me? The snail shells were so pretty, I love snails, but, the shells were keepers. I didn't see but a few clams there. Do they have mussels and clams or is that more of a cold water delicacy?

The fish were so abundant, and I truly couldn't name them all, but, I am pretty sure that I would give a go to any of them. If it swims for a living, I am pretty sure I will eat it. I cannot thank you enough for posting this, it was above and beyond a #MarketFriday post! You truly rock! I want to thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday! Every #MarketFriday, you outdo yourself! I personally try to post weekly for the challenge to provide a different look at American culture. At times it will be over the top to show exactly what many cultures think Americans live like, but, mostly, everyday things. Sometimes, I just show places that I have gone to, all having an entry fee to qualify it for the #MarketFriday tag! I do know that it has been a challenge to find new things during the pandemic, but, we still have to live, so most everyone has been able to provide a post. It really surprised me, but, also delights me to know how much effort people put into it. It shows off how much we are alike and how different life can be. In the end, it makes it an experience that I look forward to. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! It Is heartwarming to see how many posts into the challenge, including you. Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a unique flavor to the mix. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this! It was lovely! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

You are not wrong about that it's got to be the biggest seafood market that i have even seen just anything you need is here and they most definitely have mussels and clams i might have missed a couple of rows you need a GPS to get around these markets...hehe 😅

What you say about the markets been near the Gulf i googled that and it's saying the Gulf is like 450km away not sure how that works but a lot of fish here are fresh water fish and the Thailand river is only 10km away from the markets.

You were quick of the mark with commenting on this one i headed over to your page but couldn't find your marketfriday to drop the link but never mind your way ahead on this one.

Thank you as always i thoroughly enjoyed reading your awesome comment have a great weekend ahead @dswigle ❤️ 🙂

Yes, we do. But I don't think the stalls are that big. I have never been there in the morning. And in the afternoon, they are all closed. haha...
