That's a good story. I can imagine Junie cause that's my sort of reaction too.
My probable worst on a motorcycle was when I had just joined a long rider's group STOC and went on a breakfast ride from Tucson to Bisbee. I was meeting people and talking like crazy until it was time to go. About 5 miles in I felt something and saw my left saddle bag skidding down the road... You have to lock the bags with the key after you've had them off on a Honda ST.
Lotta laughs. I painted both bags flat black to hide the scuffs and had a really distinctive looking ST. For 130,000 miles :) I remembered every time I looked at the bike.

I can imagine you were embarrassed also to lose your saddle bag in a group of riders that you were just getting acquainted with. And the repainted bag was always there to remind you, lol.
