A beautiful day to you all on this lovely day, I hope you are all doing well, sharing with you today is the making of a beautiful outfit I made for my sister as a gift. I made a circle flare dress with wrapped upper bodice with basic back pattern as demanded by her.

I'm happy to be the only seamstress in my family, though I'm not living with my immediate family but anytime there is an opportunity for me to travel home to see my parents, I make few outfit to give to my sisters who live close to my parents house.

Sometimes ago when my cousin got married, and we bought Aso ebi (that was a similar fabric) for the family, I made some outfit for my sister's which were all beautiful and they all liked it. Since then, my sister has made me promised that I will make an outfit for her, as soon as she was aware that I will be coming home soon, she reminded me of her dress, which was also on my mind as well.

I thought of making something simple for her that will not cost me much, I went to the market to get this particular fabric of 2 trouser length by 45" to make my desired outfit, though when buying the fabric, I didn't have a particular style in mind, what I'm so sure of is that what I bought will be enough for a simple outfit.

Days later after I bought the fabric, I was going through Pinterest for a simple chiffon gown I could make, luckily I found this style of a flare gown with wrapped upper bodice, so i thought it will be simple and easy to make for my sister.

To make this beautiful flare gown, I cut out a 360° flare for the lower part of the gown from the waistline to the desired full length measurement, using the waist circumference plus 2" for zipper allowance then it was divided by 6.28.

The flare was set aside while I went ahead to cut the upper bodice.

I drafted out wrapped top bodice pattern on a brown paper using my sister's measurement before it was placed on the main fabric to cut out same shape just as seen below with seam allowance.

The front was a two piece and when placed together, I have this.

At the back, I cut out a basic back bodice pattern, the upper bodice were cut out with lining and sewn together because the fabric was soft and transparent.

After sewing the upper bodice with zipper allowance at the back, the flare that was initially set aside was sewn to the upper bodice, to make it full also, I pleated lining under the lower part of the gown.

To complete the outfit, I cut out a basic sleeve pattern of 10" and sew it to the armhole circumference.

On the center front, I fixed a big white button to hold the wrap together just to make it firm and to add more beauty to the dress.

This is a beautiful outcome and I'm sure my sister will so love it when I finally delivered it to her.

Thanks so much for reading through, do have a great day.
