A lovely day to you all on this beautiful day, it's Sunday and I hope you all are doing great in your respective places, well for me, it's a beautiful day coz I love Sunday's, I get to go to church in my beautiful outfit, sing and dance my best to the glory of God, it's also a day to meet with people I've seen for the last one week, I'm so happy. It's a great pleasure to share with you the making of this beautiful outfit of a straight skirt and peplum flare blouse with puff sleeves for my sister's neighbor using African print fabric of 4yards by 35" each.

My sister's daughter celebrated her birthday last week and I made 3 different outfits for my sister and her daughters to show love to them via my creativity and they were so glad to have those outfits.

Fortunately, when they wore the outfit, there's this my sister's neighbor who saw the outfit and loved the simplicity of the dresses, days later, she contacted me through my sister that she would like me to make something nice for her, lucky enough, I wasn't too busy, so we scheduled a day to meet as I took her measurement and the fabric she intend to use, it was an African print fabric of 4yards and she said she would like it to be a straight skirt and peplum flare blouse outfit, that's my specialty, so, that won't be a problem, bearing in mind that she will be wearing it on Sunday for Sunday service.

I began work immediately as soon as possible, I started with the cutting of the straight skirt from the fabric using the measurement I had with me, I marked out the full length of the skirt of 38" on the folded fabric using the hip measurement plus 2" then I marked out the waist to hip measurement and from hip to above knee line measurement, the waist and hip circumference were divided by 4 and marked on the vertical measurement with 2" for joining the lining and seam allowance, the lines were connected and cut out.

The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back part of the skirt with zipper allowance at the back and a vent slit.

I place the skirt pattern on a lining to cut out same shape for neat finishing.

The front and back were neatly sewn together with lining and zipper at the back and I have a complete skirt ready.

Now, to the making of the peplum flare blouse, the remaining fabric was used to cut out a 720Ā° peplum flare with the waist circumference measurement and the desired length of the blouse, the same shape was cut on the lining as well.

When sewing the lining and the main fabric together, I added crinoline to the tip of the flare to make it stand firm

The cutting of the upper bodice was first drafted on a brown paper with an off shoulder princess dart bustier pattern with her bodice measurement before being transferred to the main fabric.

On the front pattern, I ironed warden to the bust area to make it firm.

The front and back were sewn together as I cut out an off shoulder puff sleeve to the upper bodice armhole circumference.

Finally, the 720Ā° flare was sewn to the upper bodice with the zipper at the back and I have a complete straight skirt and peplum flare blouse outfit for my sister's neighbor Mrs Segun.

Oh wow your sister and her kids are already bringing customers
This is so pretty and indeed simple
And Iā€™m not surprised your neighbor likes it because i like it too.
