Hello hiveians.

Greetings to you all as I bring to you today the cutting and sewing process of a straight gown with princess dart bustier upper bodice with the combination of straight and puff sleeve using lace and satin.

When it comes to how to minimize fabric, my client always say I am good, unknown to them that before cutting out my upper bodice, the first thing I always do is to hsve my pattern drafted out on brown paper which will later be placed on the remaining fabric I have after cutting out the lower bodice this will help me to minimize the fabric even to the last pieces.

This white lace fabric was 2²½ yards and it was used to make this straight long gown.

Let get started with the cutting and sewing process, below are the few pictures taken.

First, as explained above, I drafted out the front and back upper bodice which was placed on the fabric and satin to cut out same shape which was drafted out.

On the fabric, the first thing I usually do is to cut out the front and back of the lower bodice after which the remaining fabric will be used to cut out the upper bodice by placing my drafted pattern on it to cut out same shape.

This was neatly ironed as I placed warden to the bust area to make the bust area stand well.

All the cut out pieces were taken to the sewing machine and sewn together, finally, I cut out a straight sleeve and added a little puff to it and it came out beautiful.

This is the final look of the dress after so much work has been done on it.

Thanks boss @smilestitches , I just needed to add something stylish to the sleeves in order not to make the dress too plain.

Yes I can relate to that thought cause I do that too in most of my clients outfit I just look for something to do so as to keep the cloth busy 😂 I don’t like sewing extremely plain cloth 😂
