Hello beautiful people

A lovely and beautiful day to you all in this creative community, I hope you are all doing great, our creativity has no bound as we create different things and share with others. I'm here today to share with you my recent design of a simple off shoulder princess dart bustier blouse with double flare peplum which I made for my sister's friend for a wedding she attended.

Mrs Johnson is one of my neighborhood sister's friend, what I do (sewing) has actually made me close to people and also made me to have a close relationship with people that I called some of them my sister because of the familiarity and closeness between us, I usually make different outfits for this my neighbor whom I call my sister and many people admire what I make for her, I made an outfit for her that captivated her friend Mrs Johnson, she told my sister that she would love me to make an outfit for her, after lots of talk about me, she was eventually brought to me.

There was a wedding schedule for the weekend and as the tradition is here, there will be a particular fabric sold out to people who are interested to grace the occasion, though, it's not compulsory but it's just to honor the day for the couple. Mrs Johnson got this particular fabric for the purpose of the wedding and brought it to me for me to make something nice for her, with her specification, I began the cutting and sewing process with the measurement I have with me.

Cutting and sewing process.

First thing I did was to draft out the upper bodice of the blouse on a brown paper using an off shoulder princess dart pattern with Mrs Johnson's measurement, after which it was set aside.

To cut the straight skirt, I folded the fabric into two with the hip circumference measurement divide by 4 plus 2.5" seam allowance, the full length measurement was marked out as well after which I marked out the vertical and horizontal measurement then I connected it to the full length measurement and cut it out.

After cutting out the front part of the skirt, it was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back part with zipper, butt and slit measurement.

The front and back part of the skirt was placed on a matching colour lining for neat finishing and was sewn together to be turned inside out. The front and back were sewn together with zipper at the back.

To the cutting and sewing of the blouse, the pattern that was drafted out on a brown paper was placed on the main fabric and lining to cut out the same shape with ½" seam allowance round, after which the bust area was padded with warden for it to be firm and was sewn together to the back part.

Since the fabric was just 4yards of Ankara fabric, it won't be enough to make the entire outfit so, I bought a matching colour satin material to make the second step of the flare, I cut out the first flare using the main Ankara fabric while the other was cut out using the satin material with difference of 2" at the length.

The flare was neatly sewn with lining as well, which was used to turn it inside out and sewn to the upper bodice that was set aside with zipper sewn to the back.

Finally, I cut out a long off shoulder basic sleeve and sew it to the blouse and I have a complete outfit.

This is the final outcome of the straight skirt and off shoulder princess dart bustier with double flare peplum I made for my sister's friend for a wedding and I hope you like it just as she did.
