DIY// simple design of a bookmark and pen holder made from left over fabric for my book
Hello lovers of diy

Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you are all having a great time with your creativity, it's a great pleasure for me to share my creativity in this lovely community @hivediy, I want to say a big thank you for your support and encouragement to my post.
Today, I will be sharing with you the making of this simple bookmark and pen holder I made for myself from left over fabrics, it is very simple, easy and useful, I hope you'll like it.

I made a corner bookmark recently which was very useful but I found out that my pen gets missing easily or sometimes I misplaced it, which will make me to be searching for it when I want to use it, you can imagine, I have about 3 pens but presently, I can only find one, so with this simple project of a bookmark and a pen holder, my pen can be hanged safely in the space for the pen holder and also serve as a bookmark as well.

Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process
For the base of the pen holder, I measured and cut out 2 pieces of 7.5 x 3" with 1 interfacing.

For the pen holder, I measured and cut out 1 piece of 9.5 x 3" with half interfacing ironed on it.

It was folded in two and I sew an applique to the folded edge to add little beauty to it.

I cut out elastic band of 11.5 by 1" for the bookmark.

I took one of the 7.5" without interfacing and placed the piece with applique on it and placed the elastic band on the middle of both and sew on it.

The other piece with interfacing was placed on it and sew round, leaving an opening by the side to be turned inside out.

The excess were trimmed off and it was turned inside out through the opening and I ironed it neatly.

Finally, I top stitched on it round and that was it.

This is the final and beautiful outcome of the bookmark and pen holder I creatively made for my book with my pen secure in it , I hope you like it.

It is very useful. And it looks pretty cool. Nicely done. It shows your talent. Keep up the good work!

It's a great page marker with pencil holder I had not seen one like this and I was delighted.
I'm glad I was able to make one for myself and how useful it is as well.
