Hello hiveians

When you are into crafting, having entrepreneurial skills like shoe and bag making, crotchet, fashion designing etc and you have younger ones around you, that keep asking you to make something for them every time they are around you without willing to pay, you will understand this better.

My niece is young lady who is close to me, she comes around whenever they have a short break from school, she is a student of university of Ilorin here in Kwara state where I reside, she keeps me company anytime she's around.

Whenever she comes around, she always ask when I will make a dress for her and my response is, buy your fabric and i will make a dress for you, this time when she came, she brought a lace fabric of 2½ yards for me to make a dress for her, with this fabric, i can only make a simple gown with the fact that I will be the one to shoulder all expenses, i had no choice, so I decided to make this simple straight gown with puffy sleeve for her.

First I drafted out the upper bodice on a brown paper with her bodice measurement and I went to the market to get a matching color of lining and satin material to make the sleeves since it's just 2½yards of lace fabric which will not be enough for the sleeves.

I folded the fabric in two to cut ou the front part of the lower bodice and it was Placed on the satin material to cut same shape to line the lower bodice and the remaining lace was used to cut the upper bodice.

The patterns i drafted were placed on the satin to cut out same shape which was later used to cut the lace and lining and the pieces were sewn together.

All the pieces were neatly sewn together, the lower and upper bodice, also I cut out the sleeve measurement using ×2 of the round sleeve measurement and I inserted an elastic band at the wrist to make it puffy, that was all, the dress is ready.

I think with this, I have really tried for her. 😀😀😀😀

Thanks for your time, comment, encouragement and tireless support, do have a great day.
