How I made two different dresses from one material out of my mistake

Hello everyone

Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, it's been a great week and I trust you all are doing great.

Last week, I decided not to sit on my sewing machine this week as I had a lot to do and I was so busy although last week so for this week, I decided to take a one week break from sewing in order not to break down but unfortunately for me, after two days of taking the rest I proposed within me, a friend of mine call that she will be needing her cloth this week.

It happens that sometimes ago, she gave me her material to make a gown with ruffles for her but the measurements went wrong as I input a wrong measurement for the full length and I couldn't achieve the style she chose which was a high and low gown with ruffles, thank God I had enough fabric left, so, the clothe was set aside and I had to cut out another from the remaining fabric just to achieve the desired style.

Being my friend, I told her what happened to the fabric, that was after achieving her desired style, then she smiled and asked if I can make something nice with it, I told her yes and she said she will get back to me when she's ready.

Now just two days ago she called and asked me to help her transform the dress I mistakenly cut to something nice that she will be needing it on Friday. I had to get to work immediately. Since the one I mistakenly cut out was short, i needed to add another material to it to make it longer.

To make this, I went to get a matching material and cut out a long piece of 10" by x3 of the hem measurement and gather it to the hem of the gown and also I cut out a flare sleeves to it and that was all, as simple as that and the transformation gave the dress a beautiful outcome after the sewing were neatly done.

I know my friend will be so glad with this as my mistake has given her another beautiful dress.

Hello Bimpcy. I congratulate you for your resolution capacity. The dress turned out very well with its added flounce, even the design seems well thought out, no one will notice that it was a mistake.

I'm sure your friend will like it. Cheers! ❣️
