Hello everyone

It's a beautiful new week and a lovely Monday to us all in this community @needleworkmonday as seamstress and needleworker we always come to show case our creativity to others, it is a pleasure for me to share with you one of my recent creativity of a beautiful gown made for my sister in-law using Kampala fabric of two design. This is the first time I'm making an outfit for my husband's older sister and I have to make sure to make it look nice. I made this gown with some pleat round the neckline and a zipper at the back to make it easier to wear. I'm sure you will like the beautiful outcome as well.

I went to visit my sister in-law recently and she gave me two fabrics to make beautiful outfit for her, thinking of what to make, I searched online and I saw this beautiful gown which she fell in love with and she asked me to make it for her, I went ahead to get a yard of floral lace fabric which was used to make the pleat on the neckline and sleeves then I began the cutting process with her measurement taken.

Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process

The fabric was folded in two vertically and I marked the full length measurement as well as the round measurement of the bust, waist and hip divide by 4 plus ease and seam allowance.

The front was cut out with the neckline and armhole measurement after which it was placed on another folded to cut out the back part of the gown with zipper allowance.

From the remaining fabric, I measured and cut out a cone sleeves for both armhole

I measured 4" on the floral lace and I cut out 2 pieces each on a line marked on the neckline after I hade sewn the shoulder together.

It was then pleated on the neckline round to the zipper at the back and I sew a bias tape on it to cover the rough part and the neckline as well

I made some pleat on the sleeves as well at the hem and at the middle with this beautiful outcome

The two sides of the gown were sewn together with the side seam allowance.

Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and this is the beautiful outcome

I hope you like the simplicity and beautiful outcome of this gown just as my sister in-law love how nice it looks.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great and productive week.

I love how the two different patterns of the fabric blend together at the center; this is beautiful, well done, dear.

I love the cone and layered sleeves. The back of the dress looks beautiful as well, you did well by extending the net lace down to the back. She will definitely love this.

Well done dear
