Making an off shoulder gown with princess dart bustier and a flare sleeve
Hi everyone
It's a great pleasure to be here this beautiful day, I trust you all are doing well just as I am here, trust me I have missed you all so much.
Lately, I have been so busy with my accommodation challenge which I will settle in properly this weekend. It has not been easy but God has been my strength with the help of beautiful and lovely people he surrounded me with.
Today I will be sharing with you a simple but beautiful off shoulder princess dart bustier gown I made for my client with a flare sleeve, I will be showing you the step by step process as well as the pictorial view.
Let's get started.
I was given four yards of Ankara fabric by my client to make a simple outfit for her, I took the fabric and folded in two to cut the front part of the gown, I marked out the waistline, the hip and full length vertically as well as the horizontal measurement.
After cutting out the front pattern, it was placed on another folded fabric which was folded in two to cut the back pattern with zipper allowance.
The upper bodice
I drafted out the princess dart bustier on a brown paper which was later transferred to the main fabric to cut out same shape as drafted on the brown paper the front and back.
I added padded to the front pattern of the bust area to make the bust part project and stand well, then the lower part the gown were sewn with a lining as well as the upper bodice and everything were sewn together to make a complete gown.
For the sleeves, my client preferred a small sleeve so I decided to make a 360° flare sleeve of about 5" which after cutting, I turned it inside out to make it neat and also to insert an elastic band for fullness at the shoulder.
After attaching the sleeves to the off shoulder gown, this is what I finally achieved. Pls, Let me know what you think about this.
Hello, I loved the way of your creation I congratulate you very nice.
Beautiful thanks for sharing @bimpcy
