A beautiful and lovely day to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you all are doing great just as I am doing here, it's my pleasure to bring to you the cutting and sewing process of this beautiful outfit I made for my little niece for her birthday.

Birthday is a special day to be celebrated and it comes once in every year, for most, it's a day they gather family and friends together to come celebrate this special day with them, while for some, it's just like every other normal day, my brother will not celebrate his birthday and when you send him birthday messages, he hardly or will not reply, reason best known to him, well for me, I usually prefer an indoor birthday with just few people around, at least 3 to 5 persons around, that is how I have been celebrating my birthday and I love it that way, but trust me, for little children, they always look forward to that special day to be celebrated in a big way by mummy and daddy with their friends around, if you want you child to be happy, celebrate her on her birthday and she won't stop talking about it with her friends.

My sister's little girl, IREMIDE birthday is just around the corner and as her aunt, I decided to make something nice for her on her special day as a birthday gift, I couldn't think of anything else than to showcase my creativity by making an outfit for her.

I got a 6yards Ankara fabric from the market to make something simple and beautiful for her, I know the 6yards will be too much, I intend to make hers first then decide on what to do with the remaining fabric.

When the little girl was born, I was not opportuned to give her anything, when she celebrated her first birthday, I was no privileged as well but this time, I made a promise that I will definitely get her something nice no matter how small but thank God this came to my mind and I'm sure my sister and my little niece will be so glad to have this as a birthday present.

When thinking of what to make, I came across this beautiful 3step gown for little children but with her height, I decided to make hers 2 steps which actually came out beautiful and nice.

The cutting and sewing process

From the Ankara fabric, I measured and cut out x2.5 of the waist circumference measurement with matching colour of lining with the full length measurement from the waistline and the other step with x3 of the waist circumference measurement. The two were sewn together with lining for neat finishing as turned inside out.

I got a satin material to cut out a cone shape using the waist circumference measurement on which the long piece will be pleated on.

The long pieces were pleated on the cone like shape to give the gown desired fullness.

The upper bodice was made of a wrap top like and was sewn with lining and zipper allowance at the back.

The upper and lower bodice were sewn together.

The remaining satin material was used to make a long belt on the waistline to add more beauty to the outfit.

This is the final outcome of my niece's birthday gift outfit I hope you like it.
