Simple design of A-shape gown with ruffles on the chest line for my cousin using floral fabric

Hello everyone

Making A-shape gown these days seam to be my specialty as it is what is mostly demanded for, well I won't blame people for making the choice of style, the reason for this I guess is the high price of material for sewing a gorgeous outfit, the more the design on the outfit, the more the cost of sewing material to buy, so most people prefer to spend less or nothing in making their outfit so for that, they go for a simple A-shape gown with just a little design on the sleeves, chest or front of the gown using the same fabric.

This particular style cost my cousin almost nothing, just for the fabric itself for the outfit, thread for sewing and bias tape for the piping the neckline, that was all.

It's been awhile since my cousin stopped by to dropped this particular fabric with me, with the intention of making something nice with it, but as times passes by, she could not enough money to spare for the making of the style she initially intended to make and the time has finally come when she actually needed to make something with it as she was to go for an occasion and she proposed to wear the outfit there.

After listening to her complain of no money to spare for the outfit, I made a suggestion for her to make a simple A-shape gown which will cost her almost nothing, after awhile, she agreed with me and pick this particular style on her phone but with a different sleeve.

Cutting and sewing process

Folding the fabric into four, I marked out the shoulder, chest, bust, waist, and hip lines as well as the horizontal measurement with ease and seam allowance.

The pieces that was cut out from the sides were folded in two to make pleat round the neckline measuring 3" away from the neckline. After which the front and back were sewn together.

To make the sleeves, the fabric was folded in two to cut out a basic sleeve of 15" and the remaining fabric was also used to make a pleat round the hem of the sleeve and finally, it was sewn to the armhole circumference of the gown

As simple as this gown is, this is the beautiful outcome with the neckline neatly piped with a bias tape.

The gown will be worn with a long camisole because of how transparent the fabric is.

Thanks so much for your time, comment, support and encouragement, I hope you like the simplicity of the gown, do have a great day💖💖💖

Love the end result! No matter what mind of fabric you use, if the one making it has skills, the result will still be good, just like this
