Hello hiveians

The first thing I usually do when making a skirt and blouse, is to cut out the skirt before cutting out the blouse, I do this in order to minimize my fabric and also since I can make use of piece to cut out the upper bodice with the use of my drafted pattern made from the bodice measurement.

To make this skirt and blouse, this is the finished skirt i made which is a straight cut skirt.

First o cut out the front bodice and it was later placed on another folded satin material to cut out the back bodice of the skirt. The Satin was then placed on the lace fabric to cut the exact shape before I trimmed of the length of the satin material so as not to be showing under the lace.

below are the pictorial view of the cutting process.

After cutting out the front and back, I pin the satin on the lace before sewing

Then it was taken to the sewing machine for proper sewing

The front and back pieces were sewn together and I have this.

This is the finished look of the straight skirt.
