The process of making a princess dart bustier gown with net yoke using lace fabric
Hello hiveians
Recent time, I have been making different types of princess dart bustier in almost same way but today, I will be sharing with you the cutting and sewing process of this princess dart bustier gown with a net yoke.
A yoke is used to join the upper bodice of a dress to the shoulder to give it a unique and stylish look.
After cutting out the princess dart bustier, on a brown paper, I traced and cut out the style I want the yoke to be which was a v-neck and it was placed on the net I intend to use and cut out the exact shape with seam allowance added.
This is just the simple step to achieve this type of yoke, the dress is to be made for a plus size lady so the measurement taken are wide.
Below are the pictorial view of the cutting and sewing process
The lower bodice
I made the sleeves with the combination of net and the remaining lace fabric with elastic band at the wrist.
Just for the dress not to look too plain, I used the trimmings from the lace to make a little design at the center front
The mannequin is not bringing out the shape because its a plus size as you've stated but I believe it's going to look smart on your client and she would love it. @bimpcy keep up the nice work
Yes boss, you are right, I tried as much as possible to make it fit but the bust area is much bigger than my maniquinne coz it's a plus size.
I'm so happy she did love the dress as it's her perfect size without any adjustments, I'm really scared of making a plus size dress. Thanks so much @olubato for your comment.
You are welcome dear, at times I loose confidence when it comes to plus size, especially if it's a suit aahhhhh, it's not easy. Am happy your client loves it. Keep it up dear
Making a plus size outfit is not funny at all, presently I have one I'm battling with, this month, it's just plus size outfit I have loaded for me. God help me. 😀😀😀
