I had always wanted a platform that I could share my thoughts and write about me.

Then have people respond in the most civil of manner, void of derogatory remarks and trust me, you can't get such support on web 2 platforms.

Despite how centralized and regulatory the initiators or organizers of the web 2 platform tend to be, trolls still find a way around their abusive word sensor by disguising abusive words using symbols and special characters.

I find it really insulting and offensive to write about something and then have a random stranger from no where come attack me personally, conveniently ignoring the subject which is the post.

With hive, it's a whole new world for me. I get to meet people of like minds, I get to interact with people that are willing to part with their knowledge just so I could learn.

From hive through @abenad, I was able to start up on my crocheting skill again, despite not really having the time to be dedicated to it fully, I try to take it bit by bit, baby steps.

Through @theinkwell, I got on fiction with creative nonfiction and improved on my grammar, punctuation plus writing skills.

Furthermore, from @weekendexperiences, I got a grasp on originality, as I started up on photography and having the photos shot by me on most of the post that I write here. You know, this gives my post an organic feel and some sort of writer's honor, lol.

While I am building on hive, I said to myself that I will not make money the primary source of me investing my time and emotions here because I'd just get frustrated and probably quit or just miss out on the crux of the matter, which is self-improvement and building a sound networking system of individuals that can impact my life positively.

Hive is basically not a get-rich-quick scheme. Thus, if an individual come here with the sole aim of cashing out, they will quit.

While money has always been an incentive to work and a motivation to keep pushing, I try not to dwell on it such that even if I do not earn as expected, especially in the beginning, I can still happily push forward, appreciate my efforts and be grateful for the journey.

Now if there was no monetary benefit attached to hive, I still would blog because for me being on hive, the monetary benefit is just the icing on the cake. I still would have the cake without the icing lol.

Let me let you in on an opportunity I stumbled upon here, earlier this year, I missed out on a chance of visiting Mauritius by December because of timing. @dreemsteem of Dreemport is the one sponsoring the Mauritius trip and six other Nigerians were lucky enough to have won six slots.

The trip is almost an all expense paid, you just need to be able to find your way to the airport and then back to your house.

Now, if the timing was perfect, I would have been in Mauritius by December, a trip that I ordinarily could not afford currently but hive would have made that happen for me.

This is just some of the few benefits I have been opportune to come across on hive, and I know as I grow here, I will meet many and also benefit from it.

Having snoozed and missed out on the last weekend-engagement prompt which is usually hosted by @galenkp starting Friday, I specifically and specially reserved today to jump on the weekend-engagement prompt. I wanted to avoid missing out and stories that touches the heart lol.
