Is Gaming An Investment Now?

Crypto games have ruined me... Not in a bad way. I've always been a gamer. I grew up on them from the good old days of that big floppy disk and A drives that held a whole 1.44MB lol Good old The Origin Trial was a classic I played heavily! Now you can play the thing for free online from your browser which I gotta say is a pretty legit throw back (which I'm playing as I write this haha) let's just say no one made it :)

The reason I bring this up is because NFT and gaming really hit a new stride this year and it's only the start. These games really are primitive and remind me of the classic I mentioned above The Origin Trial.

They started out as very basic card games and then advanced a bit into some turn taking PVP card or cute animal NFTs to battle others with. This put a little strategy in the mix and honestly these types of card games are very popular and I see them doing well for years.

From there we have seen a number of these games become extremally popular. A simple axe to harvest a digital wood source once went for $5,000 at it's lowest level and the highest upwards of $20,000! Yep one digital axe to mine a digital resource. We have seen digital land go for millions and even Splinterlands selling land for nearly a million on wax a month or two back.

This goes to show us that gaming is something that people invest heavily in. In fact how many games do you play and end up buying in game items for just to have them locked in your account?

Games are starting to really advance now. We are starting to see the coming out of card based browser games and now into downloadable software that connect into the blockchain. These Metaverses are becoming extremely powerful and although very rough examples they are going to pave the way for the future of gaming as a whole.

Just like crypto cracked down on the government and made them seriously question things and lose a bit of power so far the gaming space is going to start shaping that way as well.

IDK about you but the games that have come out lately for the last few years have been pure crap. Hyped up marketing BS that's broken, no story or just flat out bad. It's a disturbing trend and I feel these mega corps that are game developers are going to start being replaced by these crypto type games. In doing so the mega corp video game companies are going to be reluctant at first about offering up NFTs but over time they are going to have to do it otherwise dry up and die. We see this transition happening with crypto as a money source. They battled against it for so long and now they are adopting it because people stopped using their services.

One of these so called games I've started to heavily get into is called Immersy. This game allows you to craft, mine etc all in a virtual world. It's pretty much a MMO on the very basic levels but it does have great possibilities as to what the next generation of play2earn will look like.

What other NFT/crypto based games do you feel are cutting edge and paving a new way forward? Let me know in the comments.

For sure it is and only time is a constraint to get onboard on promising games. Staking NFTs and packs now is a good moment as ever and history showed us in Splinterlands how high those can get up to.

I absolutely think gaming is an investment now, even if it's just investing your time. If you can earn real world value by spending time having fun playing a game, you're getting a return on your time investment. Gods Unchained is one that I think is going to take off in 2022. I'd love to see Lost Relics take off as well but it has a long way to go. R-Planet: Conquest may also turn into a really cool game. Only time will tell.

I am playing League of Kingdoms it has a great free to play aspect that can easily lead to Play to Earn. Of course land sales can start you off on the P2E from the start.

MP3D is another game I in, though the play is more investment then play at this time. For 2022 the goal is to add a Free to Play level (the whole reason I am getting invested there currently). Those of us who own buildings will set up missions for the F2P players. So an entire mirco/macro economy build up.
