NFTs Advance Physical World Is Blending Into The Digital

Yesterday I wrote a bit about what the future of NFTs and physical items coming into the space as digital items. You can read about that here The Future Of The Digital World well in news today it looks like some of that is already being built.

Introducing Collectibles Platform Americana for high-end physical items.

This move is going to start something big. It's a way to easily to get high end collectables and then also store them at their facilities with high-security and climate controlled vaults as seen on their website here Americana

The main aim of this new solution is to eliminate many pain points associated with high-end collections such as this. Things such as vintage cards, limited-edition sneakers, fine art, fine china and whatever else.

The bonus with this new solution is now these items can be proven to be owned and now used on the Americana website for things like offers, sales or maybe even collateral.

The company raised 6.9 million in funding in May 2022. Tokens where sold for early access on Opensea which sold for roughly $130 at the time or 0.069ETH each. Currently they are being resold for just $28 for 0.015 ETH.

This is the first large case I've personally seen where a solution for large big collectables can be represented in a trusted digital format and bought, sold and traded between people. My best guess would be that by owning the NFT means you can show up and request the item from the vault.

This could end up being huge as we know how much crypto gets thrown around in the world during a bull market. Imagine owning a bunch of DOGE coins, selling them and walking away with a vintage car from some famous persons collection.

At least that's my grand vision of what is possible with this solution.

Lower End

Now there are already some forms of lower end NFTs which has connections to things like funkopops, books and other lower end priced items. I'm talking around $100 or less. Have already shown their way into the space. We have also seen a increase of this back in the last bull run with NFT sports cards and the latest advancement before the bull run was over was to start building dynamic NFTs which would change stats etc of the card as the player played for that season.

I'm unsure if anything of that came to be but it's possible and maybe implementing them into some type of game as a fantasy sports game and betting could be huge as that's become a multi billion dollar industry over the years.

We are seeing a big shift in terms of what NFTs and blockchains can do and this next bull run I think will be a high blend of physical items into digital items.
