If you didn't get the chance to test out the threads feature in Alpha for LeoFinance you now have it front and center as the new UI is live here on LeoFinance. In fact you may even have a little bit of a harder time now finding longer form content such as this on LeoFinance.io
Let's take a moment and give a quick recap of the current UI. Also note consider this is a beta phase and launch pains so expect some things to break, time out etc as issues are found and resolved by the team. Feedback and useage are critical to helping this become what I feel one of the biggest updates to not only the Hive blockchain but also for the advancement of web3.

The New UI
Let's take a look at the new UI and some of the features it provides. For the most part you'll find it harder to find the long form content at the moment and a heavy focus on threading which is just like twitter but on the blockchain and rewards in crypto.
1 Filters
Finding content you want to interact with is critical to your enjoyment on any platform. Now you have three ways of filtering threads which can be drilled down further with the toggle in #3 Here you have the latest threads, Trending and only people you're following.
2 Easy One Click Voting
You can vote on others threads rewarding them with curated hive and LEO tokens for doing so. This one click option allows you to set your vote to 5% that means you have roughly 100 votes a day you can do with your powered up LEO and Hive before it's fully replaced. In context a 100% vote eats up just about 2% of your total vote weight and replenishes at about 20% a day.
3 Hide Links
Need to clean up your feed and remove all the links to posts and get more raw content? This toggle allows you to quickly do so.
4 Craft Your Post
Here is the box where you write your own thread and have options of adding images and gifs to your thread along with some styling.
5 Trending
Over time this section will get better but here you can click and filter posts that are tagged with the hash tags you see here. You can click show more at the bottom for more options.
6 The Feed
This is the section of the UI where everyone else content is published for all to see and interact with.
7 Notifications
This this is pretty awesome and I'll give a more indepth look of it later on in this post along with some breakdowns.
8 Profile
This will take you to your profile page and will be soon one of the ways people will be able to access your longer form content such as blog posts like I'm writing now.
9 Vote Weight
If you want you can toggle and customize how much vote weight you give on a thread from 1% to 100%.
The Notification System
This might be one of the best features of the LEOFinance UI updates. This gives you a clear picture of everything going on in your account and it's always fun to see those votes come rolling in and reward you with LEO and Hive okens! You can also see replies on threads easily and colors help you know what are comments on blog posts over threads.
1 Orange
This color will show up when you get replies to your threads
2 Blue Comment
This color will show when you have a reply on your long form blog post
3 Votes
This one everyone loves as it means you just made a little revenue from the content you produced.
Your Profile
If someone clicks on your username in threads or from your blog post they will be taken to your profile page which will look something like this.
1 Rating
This is a rating from hive which is suppose to show authority on the chain from 1-100 it does an ok job of it but personally I'd love to see it replaced with something specific to Leo in the future.
2 Edit Profile
Exactly that click here to edit the look of your own profile page.
3 Follow
Easy follow button for people to follow your threads and blog post on the Hive/Leo blockchain.
4 Wallet
I'll dive into this next you'll love it!
5 Blog
Currently not working but when it is it will be the way people can find your longer form content.
6 Awards
Unknow at the moment.
7 Feed
Your personal feed will show here with comments and posts which is a little unique compared to twitter that only shows your primary posts and not your comments.
Your Wallet
Now personally I would love to see this updated to add in a swap like function for Hive>LEO at least but that might be a coming soon feature. Those swaps of course would take a small fee for the liquidity pool and perhaps for a burn or a buy back of the LEO token to be distributed.
1 Price
This will update with the prices of LEO, Hive and HBD
2 LEO Wallet
This is the current wallet I'm on and will only display the LEO token and options I have with it.
3 Hive Wallet
Will display my hive blockchain wallet and HBD funds
4 Hive Engine Wallet
This will display every layer 2 token you have on the hive blockchain along with estimated values. My hopes are the columns can be clicked on to filter alphabetical and also value highest to lowest.
5 Options
This will display options of what you can do in that wallet such as delegations, powerups etc.
Well there you have it a quick rundown of the new UI so you can make sense of it and move around in it. There's for sure a VERY heavy focus on threads over longer form content now and I'm curious myself how that will play out for the LEO ecosystem itself.

the new UI is not working properly in my mobile. I’m using iPhone 14 with Safari, very hard to vote because the slider bar too tiny maybe because this is designed for Desktop. Also when I vote I can not see my power only display percentages.
I have tried to upload a screenshot but after select the picture it just stuck there with the message “uploading”.
Would totally offer up logging this as a bug report on discord in LeoFinance feedback like this is very helpful for the team to troubleshoot and solve issues such as this.
It'll take time for some people to adjust. It's definitely for the better though
I agree, having a place for people to still go and view long form content I feel should be pretty high on the list as that's a bulk of what people are used to using hive for while still keeping the threading front and center. The biggest issue I see so far that is going to have to be thought about and I personally figured would happen is the lack of votes on threads in terms of likes. Since it's a hive vote I figured people wouldn't be too keen on it while a standalone platform that used it's own token and no hive may have had a little more vote action since that's the only way the token could be used. We will see though or maybe someone will come up with a standalone token and platform as a test in the future.
