Why Apps On-Chain Matter

There seems to be a constant battle along with grey areas as to how often an application hits the blockchain with data. Some people feel that EVERYTHING done in web3, gaming and other apps should all be on chain transactions. While others feel there are things that don't need to happen on chain and instead only need to be broadcasted once in a while.

We see this constantly with applications and with high fee chains being the biggest stop gap as to why all data is not pushed on chain. But there simply must be a better way.

Other Assets

So what about other assets? Like real world assets? We have been seeing a increase of Blending Real World Assets Into Tokenization already. However what about more novel items like movie tickets, concert tickets and more. Do they have a place?

They do but perhaps in a way many are not thinking about yet. That's metadata, data that only can exist on web3 and makes it extremely unique from anything that currently exists and opens up new possibilities.

This meta data would be a full backlog of waves of demand and tracking on a large scale but in a way that still protects every day people. Instead this metadata can be used for various research and targeting in a way that traditional media does so. Make no mistake about it as much as people hate ads they hate even more when they get untargeted ads. It's w wild thing I've noticed over my years of working in marketing lol They don't want to be tracked but hate it more when unrelated ads get thrown at them.

So web3 and blockchains can in fact act as new anonymous databases in which advertisers can tap into to start serving up related ads.

This data can also be pulled for research means. When you think about it every transaction on every blockchain can be viewed and does have a time stamp to go with it. AI might play a critical part in taking this swath of data and creating something meaningful that humans can understand. Perhaps figuring out trends, demands and new applications in which people were enjoying but the timing or the function just wasn't right.

This new realm of expansive data hasn't even been close to being touched on yet and web 3 at least in terms of how I see web 3 is still a long way off now three years later after the term first started to get main stream.

This data can also pinpoint projects of success and combine them with other data and projects to create the perfect fold of the next web3 app everyone has been waiting on.

There are a number of good ideas out there. But they lack in one way or another which has stopped massive and continued adoption of these platforms. Simply saying your information is private or that you'll get some small crypto payouts isn't enough. Either there web3 platforms need to buck up and start producing serious revenue to pay their content creators or they need to start offering up some ground breaking new features which people love and want to continue to use.
