IS FLIRTING CHEATING?

Good day to everyone in #hivenaija community. It feels good writing again and this time I'll love to participate in the ongoing weekly contest "IS FLIRTING CHEATING?"

Flirting means different things to different people but it still balls down to the fact that it's an act of seduction...this is my own view.

When relationships go sour, most persons resort to flirting. They see this as an activity to pass away time instead of working on their relationship and this leads to cheating resulting in the partner being unfaithful.

You can afford to show kindness to the opposite sex but the moment you begin to show traits of flirting, you've definitely gone out of line especially when you're in a commited relationship.

And most people misinterpret being kind to be being flirty. There is a thin line between both of them. Teasing the opposite sex, using flirtatious words and showing positive responses to it brings about unwanted attraction especially by those listening to it.

The majority of the time, a sexual relationship is established via flirting, which is expressed in small gestures like signals that let the other person determine whether or not they want to respond. It can be difficult to determine whether flirting in and of itself is cheating, but it is one of the aids to cheating because every instance of cheating has been described as beginning with the two parties exchanging flirty words or actions.

And most times, it is difficult to flee from the heat of flirting when it begins to involve sexual moves and gestures. What's the point of flirting when you have a committed partner or you're in a committed relationship? Why flirt when you can convert that time to fully focus on your partner? Why flirt when those words or gestures can cause an irrevocable trigger in the opposite sex?

You should always bear in mind that people are wired differently. The moment you begin to notice some funny behaviour from someone you do appreciate their beauty or sexuality, waste no time in killing such conversations before it engulfs into something else.

Our motives matters a lot in everything we do or think. The way our intentions are perceived also matters. In everything we do, intentions or motives behind them matters.

For someone like me, I'm very careful with how I present my words and I try as much as possible to interpret my body language positively so I don't get misinterpreted.

Thank you for reading.
