FUCK, another earthquake...

I say that often nowadays, is something inevitable... after all my island Puerto Rico has been shaking non stop since December 28. Nearly 2k quakes so far and lots of destruction in the south of the island. Don't misunderstand me, Puerto Rico is located between 2 tectonic plates and have another inside the island. So here, in this island, the ground shakes everyday but normally quakes are so tiny that no one notice them... until things went straight to hell in December 28.... 17 days of quakes, nearly 2k of them so far... 5.5, 5.9, 6.1, 6.6, 6.9.... those were the strongest ones and every single one of them brought all the "tiny ones" that makes the island shake basically 24/7.

Many homes ended like pancakes, schools completely collapsed, roads with huge crackings, 2 power plants destroyed leaving many people without electricity or potable water cause the main dams are too big and can't use generators. Mountains are collapsing, bridges are not safe anymore, people injured, 3 deaths and 2 elders suicide cause they couldn't take it anymore. You see, people living at the hurricane highway a.k.a Caribbean, are used to storms and hurricanes. We're used to extreme heat and waterspouts and for those things you can prepare cause it can be predicted but earthquakes are bitches, they don't knock on your door and say "Oh, hi... I will totally destroy you, wait for me in a few minutes"... No, earthquakes just show and if you don't act quick and protect yourself you're a goner.

I'm not gonna lie. My nerves are totally destroyed, I have huge dark circles, NO ONE is sleeping properly in this island... its impossible to sleep properly when the ground keeps shaking, when every time we go to sleep a strong quake comes, when the south is literally sinking slowly. Government is doing what is best for: nothing! The people living in the north is basically the only ones supporting the south with food, supplies, medical help and tents. Nearly 3k people are sleeping outside cause they lost their homes. The island filled with all types of scientist cause this is an event that happens every 100 years and they are all excited about it, its like a cool field day for them... they are so happy doing all types of studies and experiments while the rest of us, the normal human beings are destroyed mentally and emotionally.

By now I feel like I've been in a survival training my whole life to endure all types of shit: storms, hurricanes category 5, extreme heat of 46-50 C for 10 months straight, droughts, floods, chikingunya, zika, being without potable water or electricity for months, a corrupt government and now earthquakes. I'm a fucking surviver! I have evolved like a pokemon or sayajin. I can say I have thick skin, all puerto ricans can! Is like the world is trying to get rid of us and we're like "FUCK YOU! I AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE. I CAN SURVIVE ANYTHING!" and we do all with a big smile on our faces, we make fun of all, we laugh our lungs out cause that's our strength, to laugh in the face of danger, to laugh in the face of fear and despair. God made us survivers, also very crazy, stubborn as hell and jokers. We will keep facing all the shit throw at us and we will emerge victorious like always finding 100 ways to survive, adapt and evolve. Cause we're all real pokemons eh... hard to kill... eh... sayajin eh... a new species?.... survivers!

So I couldn't wish y'all a happy new year properly... like you been reading I've been dealing with earthquakes since December 28 and electricity/internet is very limited. Thanks God my family and home are ok and I'm trying to learn to not lose my shit every time the ground shakes. So, in case I don't see ya in a while I wish the best for you all and if I never come back don't worry, I'm just busy dealing with the perks of evolving the hard way... I hope I develop psychic power too, that would be so cool! See ya when I see ya!
