Yesterday Mother's Day was celebrated. I always spend that day with my mother, grandmother, aunts and daughters, however this year was different as my mother has been out of town since Friday. my grandmother if she is staying at my mother's house. The previous years we all went to my grandmother's house, so yesterday my aunts came to my mother's house to spend time with my grandmother, so I had to spoil them.

Ayer se celebró el día de las madres. Siempre paso ese día con mi madre, mi abuela, mis tías y mis hijas, sin embargo este año fue diferente ya que mi madre ha estado fuera de la ciudad desde el viernes. mi abuela si está quedándose en casa de mi madre. Los años anteriores todos fuimos a la casa de mi abuela, así que ayer mis tías vinieron a la casa de mi madre para pasarla con mi abuela, por lo tanto me tocó consentirlas.

I spent most of the day cooking, and I didn't get a chance to take photos like I would have done at another time. I prepared baked chicken together with my cousin who also brought chicken, I made potato salad with carrots and for dessert, I made them a quesillo cake that is called an "impossible cake", the truth is that it takes a long time to cook. so that was what took me most time and when I got to my mother's house everyone was very hungry and I was already tired.

Pasé casi todo el día cocinando, y no tuve oportunidad de tomar fotos como hubiese hecho en otro momento. Preparé pollo horneado junto con mi prima que también llevó pollo, hice ensalada de papas con zanahorias y de postre, les hice una torta de quesillo a la que le dicen torta imposible, la verdad que es una torta que para mi tarda mucho en cocinarse, así que fue lo que más me quitó tiempo el día de ayer y cuando llegué a la casa de mi madre todos tenían mucha hambre y yo ya estaba cansada.

However, the satisfaction is always to see that they like what you have done. The food was delicious and everyone loved the cake that stressed me out so much. I have made this cake small, however yesterday I used a slightly larger mold and that is why the preparation was a bit complicated. Outside was burning but inside was completely raw. I lowered the oven heat and the time was 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Sin embargo, la satisfacción siempre es ver que lo que has hecho les gusta. La comida estuvo rica y a todos les encantó la torta que tanto me estresó. Esta torta la he hecho pequeña, sin embargo ayer utilicé un molde un poco más grande y por eso se me complicó un poco la preparación. Por fuera se estaba quemando pero por dentro estaba completamente crudo. Bajé el fuego del horno y el tiempo fue de 1 hora y 20 minutos.

Finally I was able to get it out of the oven, I cut the burned and protruding part to unmold and it was cool.

Finalmente pude sacarla del horno, corté la parte quemada y sobresaliente para desmoldar y quedó chévere.

Everything was fine, I shared with my uncles and cousins and I ended the day exhausted. We stayed overnight at my mother's house and today early I took my little daughter and my husband to work. Then I came home to get the things my older daughter needed to go to high school and that's when she gave me her Mother's Day gift.

Todo estuvo bien, compartí con mis tios y primos y terminé el día agotada. Nos quedamos durmiendo en casa de mi madre y temprano llevé a mi hija pequeña y a mi esposo al trabajo. Luego me vine a mi casa a buscar las cosas que necesitaba mi hija grande para ir al liceo y fue cuando me dió su regalo del día de las madres.

It was really a surprise, I didn't expect it. yesterday she gave me my favorite chocolate and today I no longer thought about mother's day. She arrived and told me that she would give me my other gift that she had left pending because yesterday I was very busy and I wasn't going to enjoy it. She brought her violin and played one of my favorite songs.

Fue realmente una sorpresa, no me lo esperaba. ayer ella me regaló mi chocolate favorito y ya no pensaba en el día de las madres. Ella llegó y me dijo que me daría mi otro regalo que quedó pendiente porque ayer yo estaba muy atareada y no lo iba a disfrutar. Trajo su violín y tocó una de mis canciones favoritas.

What surprised me the most and made me cry was that she practiced that song that I like so much but that annoys her, she always tells me that I listen that song a lot and it annoys her, so I never would have imagined that she practice that song for me.

Lo que más me sorprendió y me hizo llorar, fue que ella practicó esa canción que a mi me gusta tanto pero que a ella le fastidia, ella siempre me dice que pongo mucho esa canción y le fastidia, así que jamás me hubiese imaginado que ella practicara esa canción para mi.

Although she has been studying in the Venezuelan Orchestra System for some time, she still has a lot to learn, they play songs that are assigned to them and they play with their specific scores, that's why this song that she played especially for me gave me so much joy. and pride. She had the initiative to play something different, something special just for me.

A pesar que tiene tiempo estudiando en el Sistema de Orquesta de Venezuela, aún le falta mucho por aprender, ellos tocan canciones que les van asignando y tocan con sus partituras específicas, por eso esta canción que ella tocó especialmente para mi, me dió tanta alegría y orgullo. Ella tuvo la iniciativa de tocar algo diferente, algo especial solo para mi.

She searched for sheet music on YouTube and knew how to read them and produced the song very well. It made me cry from surprise and because I see how she has progressed, it has really been worth all the effort we make every day running from one place to another to complete all the activities both at school and at the music academy.
