DESIGNED WITH CANVA

Hello everyone. Welcome to another exciting contest in the needlework community. Thanks to @crosheille for this opportunity. This week’s contest is about dressing up your barbie. Although I was excited about this contest, I wasn’t exactly sure what I would do, since I have never worked with a barbie before.

I decided to start with the easiest and most important thing on the list, which is getting a barbie. Getting the barbie was the easy part, making the dress was a little difficult. This is my first time making tiny crochet wear.

The first thing I did was to decide what I wanted to make. My first thought was a ball gown because who doesn’t love to see Barbie in a beautiful ball gown, but then I told myself “slow down”. This is your first trial so don’t start what you can’t finish.

I decided to go with a regular gown but I chose red to make a bold statement. I was going for a simple yet classy look for the first outfit. Making the dress was easier than I thought, although it felt weird working with a really small size and a really small hook. It was an exciting first-time experience.

After making the dress, I decided to make lace socks. I went with the colour yellow and I have absolutely no idea why I chose yellow. It felt like the right combination at the time and I do not regret choosing yellow.

Since it's a tube gown, there was no need to do anything for the hand but after taking the pictures I felt the hands were too bare, so I made something for the hand of my Barbie, whose name is Alesha by the way. After adding the hand I was okay with the simple yet classy look.

It was time to move on to the next outfit, which is a regular casual outfit. I also made a simple straight skirt and a tube top also. Basically, I chose the tube because it’s easier to make on Alesha. I am not yet familiar with making tiny clothes, so I opted for the easiest thing to make. I hope you like both outfits.

Thanks for stopping by ❤️

What a stylish chic Barbie dress. That beautiful red color with those yellow socks really make a statement. The colors pop so well together. I feel if she walks into a room she will demand all eyes with this look. The way it’s fitted at the top and then flares out gives it more dimension. The added arm pieces are really cute.

Very cute and kudos for you for doing so well on your first mini outfit. I hope we’ll see more from you as this will be an annual NeedleWorkMonday event now! 🤩

The blue outfit is simply cute as well. Thanks for your entry ~

This barbie will make all the Kens fall over for her in these outfits. They're both very chic but I love the colored fit more for her.

I can imagine how weird it is working with very small measurements. It's hard enough if it's a baby but then a doll? 😄

Getting the barbie has been the hardest part for me. I searched for one today but they were too expensive. And I don't know our main market too well.
