Happy March 671st, 2020

Happy New Year 2022!

I know it's January 1st, 2022, but it sure as hell feels like March 671st, 2020. It feels like we've been stuck inside, and treading water since March 2020.

Sure, of of this is self inflicted, but much is not. In my industry, Corporate Special Events, we are largely still not working, since the Pandemic started. typical trade shows and conferences held in convention centers, and large hotel ballrooms, simply have not returned. 5 or so million of us, world wide are simply not working yet.

So what to do?
Clearly, I am not going to sit on my behind, hiding in my room, for 2 plus years. Here's but a few of the goals I have accomplished since the pandemic began:

Classes
American Red Cross Basic First Aid
Who knew I would put this training into affect, on New Year's Eve, last night? I was cooking and absent mindedly grabbed a pan that was sitting on the stove top, after it was in the oven for an hour, at 425ºF. 1st degree and 2nd degree burns on my palm and fingers.

American Red Cross CPR and Defibrilator for Adult and Infant
So far so good, not needed.

Aerial Remote Pilot Class (Drone Operator)
Few realize this, but, you cannot use a drone for photography and make money at it. That means, person use is fine, but selling images, without an FAA 107 license is illegal. I am in the licensing process now.
• 2022 Take the test!

Basic Boating and Safety
Repeat for a brush up

Near Coastal Navigation
Also a brush up, as I took this one wiht my dad, 20 years ago.

Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) License
This is something I have been signed up for and had it cancel for Covid reasons for about a year now. It's called the OUPV class, but also known as the 6 Pack Charter Boat Captain.
• 2022 Keep your fingers crossed, signed up for Jan 15-16th, plus more hours.

Personal Goals
Lost 41 pounds
Bit of a misnomer there, as I put on 5 pounds during the holidays, but, hopefully, that will slink back off within a week or so.
• 2022 I need to lose the 5 I put back on and 10-15 more, as well as sustain that healthier weight.

Get out and move
I spent a LOT less time in 2021 walking than I did in 2020.
• 2022 That changes... back to 2 - 3 times a week walks and hikes.

Read The Bible
Bit of a misnomer there, too. First of all, who knew it had so many chapters? I finished Old Testament, and finished through John of the New Testament. I suspect those who knew I took this challenge on, were laughing at my naiveté when saying I would do this. Many spend much longer to read the Good Book, than a year.
• 2022 I'll finish it, and end up going back for more bits to reread.

Gardening
I increased my dedication to gardening. I've always grown some plants. but now, I am growing for sustainability. I am growing to feed my family and food for friends.
• 2022 I will show more videos and posts on Gardening Grovid 2022

Photography
I am shooting, but no where near what I did pre-pandemic.
• 2022 I will take a few classes for 2022, and spend more time shooting.
• 2022 See my My Bucket List Photography for more on that.
• 2022 Make photography closer to my main income stream

Therapy
• 2022 I've got some issues that need tackling.

Living
• 2022 Finally, settle on the big move.

I am sure there are many more items, on my list, personal and professional, that are too small to mention. Here's hoping the new year brings amazing things to all of you... (Except for those of you who do not deserve it - you know who you are!),/div>
