Main Garden GroVid22 Update, Oct

Season Wrap at the Main Garden!

It's definitely the end of the season, in the main garden. MOST of the plants are dead, or in their last death throws. This Roma tomato plant and the last of the fruit sums it up: One last tomato, hanging onto a dead plant.

Above: Last of the Plum type: This is a Roma and all the San Marzano are picked, plants are dead and gone.

Below: Not as healthy a sample of the Ukrainian Plum. barely visible is the dead vine.

Most of my tomato plants are dead, but it does seem, the pepper plants above are doing well. Lots of buds, some ripe, and some unripe pepper. I guess they are simply a later harvest than usual. Let's see what I can get before the frosts settle in.

Nothing but garden cleanup and maybe eek out some of the pepper and herbs.

How does your garden look at this time of year? What's still alive? what are you doing for winter prep? or are you just now seeding and coming into your own spring?

I'm down to brussel sprouts outside. Started cleaning up and winterizing. Hopefully you get enough decent weather to finish up some peppers 🤞
