remember when you chose onion seed for next year, make sure to chose the correct type:
Long Day, Intermediate Day, and Short Day are the main varieties. You need to pick the day length type based on your location. you are in Salinas Valley, so that is really SHORT DAY onion types. Up north in New England, it is cooler, but I have longer daylight hours. So, I choose Long Day Types. You can also plant any kind of Bunching Onion, or Green onions.
