A Bomb Went Off

I am not positive, but I came down from my office, for dinner, and I believe a Bomb went off. Normally, I cook... in fact 5 out of 7 days I cook. one day a week is leftovers, and one day is some takeout.

Today, mid morning, I knew, I would not be cooking. In our family group text chat, I saw my wife left a message, saying she was ordering curbside pickup at the nearby grocery store (not our typical one I go to at least once a week).

That she was ordering or shopping for groceries was out of the ordinary... never mind that she was cooking. so, to say I was pleasantly surprised, was an understatement, for sure. Nevertheless, when I came into the kitchen, there, before me, were soup and sandwich setups, all ready for us:

Cheese, Beer, and Leek Soup.

A traditional dark brown beer (Newcastle), some wonderful fresh shredded cheese, leeks, celery, carrot, and some crumbled bacon. I added a roast beef sandwich on a roll she baked herself, this afternoon! (see above, intro image)

I was pleasantly surprised, and also, THRILLED. It turned out to be an amazing dinner. Mind you, every counter, surface and table in the kitchen was covered in all manner of flour, shredded cheese, butter, empty milk containers, and more empty dishes than I've seen in a decade, but, the meal was amazing. After brief negotiation, I helped clean the kitchen, too.

There's even a rumor that she ordered food stuffs from the store, to also make a lasagna dinner later this week! I am doubtful it will be gluten free, like the meal that @biggerjoe and @dreemsteam fed me the first time I visited their home, but I imagine it will be wonderfully gluteny!

What a great surprise! Roast Beast sandwich on home-baked bread with a yummy soup! That is simply perfect! I like your soup-and-sandwich service ware, too! 😃
