My Simple weekend: Saving the poor mantis from the cute little chicks

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted in this community.. hope everyone's doing great today where ever part of the world you are right now.

One afternoon at the end of the week, I was sitting down, looking at my cellphone and watching a mini-drama when the chicks caught my attention. They seemed to be playing with something. At first, I didn’t pay much attention because I was focused on the mini-drama I was watching.
Suddenly, the chicks became noisy again, so I went over to see what was happening and why they were making so much noise, as if they were playing with something. When I got closer, I noticed a praying mantis defending itself while the chicks were trying to peck at it.
Every time a chick came closer and tried to peck at the praying mantis, it would raise its front legs and wait for the chick to come within reach, then quickly strike it with both of its forelegs.
At first, I enjoyed watching what was happening, and it was actually quite entertaining to watch. Because I was so amused by the scene, I completely forgot to take pictures of what was happening.

While I was happily watching the scene, I suddenly thought that the praying mantis might be in trouble if the other chicks noticed it and started pecking at it together. So, I decided to pick it up and move it away from the chicks. I was worried that it might die if the chicks continued attacking it.
I carefully picked up the poor praying mantis and placed it on one of the orchid flowers, where I left it alone and let it stay there.
